COMMUNITY STADIUM, MOSSDEEP CITY, 6:03 P. M.

"Ah, Mr. Maher!" Gwyar greeted at the other man's arrival, looking up from a tablet in his hand. "So glad you could make it!"

A rotom 's head briefly popped out of the tablet's screen, joining the blonde in greeting the other gym leader. They stood on the back entrance of the community stadium, surrounded by working staff.

Not a small amount of them paused to mutter and point as the champion walked around.

"I hope you're feeling well— The crowd is quite excited!" The blonde said, holding out a hand to the other. "Oh— preparations were made as you requested, by the way. Everything should go smoothly."

The first LEAGUE & LEARN seminars with Greyson Connors and FERNANDO SILPH had been a smashing success. The people of mossdeep— and hoenn at large— were eager to get a chance at learning from the pros.

And who better to feature next, after an Elite 4 member and Hoenn's longest serving gym leader, than its very own Vital City Tournament Champ— the Triple H.

The Gym Leader remained steadfast in the face of the inhumane butchering suffered by his name, a single proverbial tear streaking down his heart.

"Indeed." He said, smiling politely. "This is a rare opportunity for most."

Most people would never meet their heroes, let alone get a chance to learn from them.

And though only a few folk would get to exchange more than a few words with Cian today— the lucky few who managed to get their questions in —, all attendants would have the privilege of learning from Hoenn's triple H.

"Yes. We'll be with you every step of the way." The blonde confirmed, the staff behind him following up with nods, thumbs ups and grins.

This wasn't their League & Learn rodeo— they were all ready to make this their greatest success yet.

"Hmm... That should make for a useful demonstration, yes." The blonde said with an approving nod.

Turning his gaze over to the vast one sided windows leading into the stadium's arena, he hummed thoughtfully.

"But first! You must introduce them to the subject properly."

While many gyms had a focus on essential strategies of pokemon battling, few were the ones were these were actually explained to the
challenger in detail. They were more expected to face off against them and figure out how to triumph over the circumstances.

Triple H was one of Hoenn's premiere weather users— he just needed to pass on a little of that expertise.

Gwyar smiled at Cian.

"Think of it as taking the theme of your Gym, and making it into a... relatively short lecture." He explained simply, smiling.

Gym leaders didn't often get to demonstrate and share their expertise with a crowd of thousands, after all.

despite the impression he may give off, cian approaches his work in a different light, serious and caring as he knows he's helping shape the next generation of trainers.[break][break]

so, when they're both ready, he walks out into the stadium's arena, waving at the crowd before assuming his position at the podium. he taps on the microphone once, then smiles.[break][break]

"thanks for coming out today! i'm cian maher. some of you may know me as rustboro's gym leader…vct champion…rocket defector…whatever it is, i'm lucky to find myself in a position where i can help teach and guide you into becoming a more well-rounded trainer. so, let's start with: what makes a trainer good? well-rounded?"[break][break]

after a short lecture where he emphasizes the importance of being able to adapt, the whole basis of what he teaches at the weather gym, he invites Gwyar Wledig out on stage for their showcase.[break][break]

He stood back and watched the man work.

Rustboro's gym leader was blessed with the confidence to stand before thousands and the eloquence to deliver a seminar on a highly complex subject off the top of his dome.

Hoenn truly stood upon a goldmine of talent. And to think this one could've become a huge threat, had he stayed with rocket.

Not eloquent enough to say his name right, though.

"As ever." Gwyar said, the silent tears in his heart going unacknowledged as he marched to the opposite side of the field, smiling at the audience brightly before turning to face Cian.

His hand moved to his belt, digits fleeting over the pokeballs strapped to it.

"Shall we?"
