Ultra Space was even more wild than the last time she had entered it. This time, Gwendolyn had come alongside the woman she had met before to fix up some of the pieces of her technology that she had "enhanced" without prior authorization from the Ranger heads. She couldn't submit a work order request and then let them know what she had been up to, and instead, opted to simply find a fix for them elsewhere. Ameena had been a huge help to her efforts in such, and Gwen was happy as a clam to come here.

They entered and quite the change in scenery greeted them. It was an industrial area that sprawled all over the entire landscape, with massive pylons and structures that didn't seem to have an end in sight. Electricity crackled through each and every little surface here. Gwen would have thought that they were in some sort of strange little laptop by what was here.

"This is pretty cool, if not for the electricity in the air." she said, forgoing glasses after getting elbowed in the face and opting for contacts instead. "I can't imagine what's going to be lurking around here. I don't see any natural life anywhere."

Her longer hair was fraying due to the latent electrical charge, which was thankfully combed by the ever helpful Ammena. She smiled in appreciation and maybe even blushed a tad. After getting it done good enough, she led the way further into the metallic wonderland.

"Where do you think is a good testing site for this thing? There's some open areas, but most of this place is just a maze..."

A Voltorb didn't seem too thrilled to stumble upon them during its morning stroll. Gishath likely would have started to bite on it had it not began to glow a bright color. FOrtunately, Ameena had sent it flying into the air before exploding into a shower of particles and colors. "Thanks for the save, Ameena!" She gave a peppy nod and followed the other woman further into the electric wasteland.

She pulled out her recent little doohicky, a retrofitted radar that was supposed to pick up on the energy that Pokemon exhibited and use it as a basis to display how far they were from the user. It was an expanded upon idea for the proprietary ones that Rangers were issued, but with a few modifications to access things like the size and density of the energy signatures.

"Right! Activating now!" She pressed the power button as the screen lit up and...

It didn't show anything. Nothing at all. She frowned, then pressed the scan button again. And again. Perhaps a third time? Fourth?

"Hm, it must not be getting anything. Any ideas?"

The ever helpful Ameena was quick to offer a solution. Magneton could definitely offer some help for stuff like this! She tossed them out and carefully climbed on top of it before they quickly hovered into the air. Gishath stood beside Amenna, keeping his eye on her with a soft hiss. There was a weak signal, but nothing too out of line.

"Higher, guys! Use MAGNET RISE!"

Gwen shot up into the air and tried again, and this time, it worked! It was picking signals from other Pokemon! She cheered, waving up in the air, before soon, her and the Magneton were then sent hurling towards one of the giant metal pillars. She yelled out and held onto her Magneton for dear life.

Gwendolyn closed her eyes and braced herself for impact of the wall, only to be saved at the last moment by Ameena and her Pokemon by a timely intervention. She breathed a sigh of relief, then went right back into panicking as the Magneton had suddenly collided with the pylon and knock the city into a sprawling darkness. The Magneton was also likely stuck there, wriggling around for help.

"Phew! Ameena, you're a life saver." Gwen smiled at the other woman, "I would have been fried if not for you!"

The dead city had continued on as they arrived. Lights flickered every now and again in an irregular pattern. Sounds of crunchy and crackling electricity were echoed all around the area. Gwen wanted to explore around to her heart's delight as much as she could, though bound only by the reason they had come in the first place. She activated the device again and began to lead the way.

The advanced radar had began to ping different energy signatures around them. The reading was hazy, but it was the start of something!

"I'm getting something now! It's just telling me different types, but most of them are electric."

She stopped by a lone Chargabug, currently pulling on an exposed wire and feasting on the copper innards that littered it. The display was cute, and she did have to kneel down and pet it out of the cute display.

The resulting electric shock she received was more than enough of a lesson to not do it again.

Around them, the low hum of wings had grown louder and numerous. The Radar on the ground showed multiple high energy readings closing in one them, and the readings danger level off to the side was peaked at a category 5 incident.

"Huh?" Gwen looked up after being shocked by the Chargabug to see a giant Pokemon looming above them. The fierce tendrils of black...things and electricity popping around them. The lights were still off, yet the both of them could only make out the smaller bodies of Pokemon surrounding.

Ones that weren't moving.

The sight of them had spooked the trainee. Gwendolyn gasped and trembled in surprise, backing away as she tripped over the corpse of a fallen Vikavolt. The sight of which had elicited a sudden shriek from the girl.

"D-Dead! They're...dead."

Gwen began to back away from the godly beast that they had been facing off with. Her balance had been upset by the sudden discovery as she was now crawling backwards and starting to panic.

Gwen, too struck with fear, couldn't will herself to look away from the still bodies of the electric types scattered across the ground behind them. The massive Xurtree's electricity had been arcing around and striking the bodies of nearby corpses.

Yet one Chargabug would be struck by one and get back onto its feet as if nothing had happened. The orange haired girl's heart had settled at seeing a dead…thing just get up and continue living, but she was still frozen in place.

Thanks to Ameena, she was plucked up from danger and whisked away, speechless as she had been trying to process everything in her mind.

”This is way more than I thought we'd be getting into when I agreed to come here.” Gwen said as she exhaled and did her best to push the trauma out of her head for the time being. There were more important things to focus on.

”Sorry for freezing up. I'm willing to go deeper if you are.”
