[attr="class","textbody"] Littleroot Town had been one of the first places Jethro had considered settling in when he decided to pull up roots, but there were a couple of reasons he'd opted not to. [break][break] In his research, he had come to know Hoenn as a home to all manner of oddities, but this place was host to several of them. There were rumors of a mechanical kingdom that was housed beneath the soil, and he'd seen news coverage of the icy wasteland that neighbored the place to the north. It was a little too much for Jethro's taste; were he a younger man, the call of adventure would have drawn him in like a Cutiefly to a bug zapper, but now it all seemed like it was more trouble than it was worth. [break][break] But that wasn't the only reason, of course. He'd passed through town to talk to a man about a Mudsdale, and the simple comfort of the rural town was far closer to home than he might have first guessed. A little diner he stopped at fried their taters differently than his favorite spot back home, but the biscuits and gravy were better than he'd expected. The friendly faces he passed were unfamiliar in their features but welcoming all the same, an echo of the hospitality he'd become so acquainted with. The place was foreign to him, but in some ways, it was like he'd never left Floccesy. [break][break] Which is why he couldn't linger in this place too long. He gnawed at the toothpick jutting out of the corner his mouth with agitation as he stomped up the path toward Oldale. The last thing he needed was to be reminded of the things he'd lost back on a continent a thousand miles away, god damn it. The sooner he got out of these parts, the better.
