Yuina worked on fastening the harness across Ayashi's chest and making sure it was secure before working on getting the cart hooked up to him.[break][break]
Ressa the Lilligant was delighted, beaming as she cradled an egg she held in her leaves, brushing over its smooth surface fondly.[break][break]
"Alright, I think we're just about ready? Do we have all of the eggs situated," Yuina wondered, stepping back from the Wyrdeer as she moved to lift up the portion of the cart that would hook up to Ayashi's harness so that she and Cian could deliver them to Verdanturf on the other side of the tunnel.

Patting the side of Ayashi's broad neck, Yuina motioned the deer forward. He huffed, stomping his great hooves to test the new weight of the wagon behind him, and was able to start forward with one lurch of the wagon's wheels.[break][break]
Yuina took a glance at Cian though, he seemed rather incredulous otherwise as she offered a congratulations. This from the same guy who very eagerly took on the title as the vital city tournament champion.[break][break]
"You're not just the VCT champion now, I heard you got champion rank for the league? Take the compliment," Yuina laughed, but only just, she wouldn't force him, just like she would fight a compliment in kind.[break]
"I haven't even tried a gym battle myself, but I can imagine how long the road was. You really did something incredible."

The Rusturf Tunnel shrouds them in the dimmness of being underground as they move forward, the sound of Ayashi's hooves and the wagon's wheels bouncing off of the cavernous walls. Spots of Clay and other sediments color the tunnel in various shades of beige and gray as the deer continues to clomp forward.[break][break]
"Yeah, that. Only one of the highest regards someone could get in the region," Yuina laughed, but Cian was greatful. He extended an offer though, an invitation to his gym, another representative reaching out the olive branch for taking on the challenge. Yuina listened carefully and intently to Cian as he spoke, stopping Ayashi for a moment as she shuffled a series of Spikes out of their path, likely left from a passing ground type that dwelled within the tunnels. No need for the Wyrdeer to step on them or for the spikes to get stuck to the wagon after all.[break][break]
"And for all of the good you've done, the example you set every day... Why would Greyson still hold your past over you? Does anyone else do that," she wondered, and she was genuinely concerned for her friend, it was awful to think that anyone could be truly mean to Cian. He didn't deserve it... But it was a morbid curiosity too... When people find out, when league officials knew, did they always lord someone's past over them, and never let them forget it?

His return is stark, unabashedly direct, but Yuina doesn't argue, how could she? Cian had experience on both sides of the line, and where she felt that it was fairly arbitrary most of the time... it was different, to hear something so black and white.[break]
Did she know people in rocket? Did he still know people in rocket and those were who he sympathized with or care for? Did that make the line blurry again when it came to knowing someone as both a person and for what 'side' they stood with?[break][break]
