It was a difficult time for her to say the least. [break][break]

kyle lopez had left her big shoes to suddenly fill. One moment she's trying to save MATIAS SILPH from the very creature she warned him about and the next thing she knows Kyle's the one who dies for it. It was bullshit, all of it. [break][break]

She should be happy right? She sat on the very throne she had yearned for countless sleepless nights but what did that matter when it's foundations wasn't made by her actions but rather the decisions of those around her? [break][break]

She stared at the last name outside of the building she was going to walk into. "Silph." she reads to herself as her zorua's illusions obscured her face. When she enters the building she withdraws the pokemon, dispelling the illusion and releasing her corsola instead. She walked up to the front desk staff "I have an appointment with fernando. We need to discuss my recent gym inspections and other matters with him." [break][break]

The front staff was stunned by her sudden presence, the Diva's attire left her stunned and Melody found herself feeling impatient. "Please call him?" it was enough of a prompt to ruin the person's stare studded gaze.

despite the receptionist’s answer, fernando does not appear for some time. almost ten minutes pass until the main elevator reveals the most important person in the building. unlike with melody, those in his presence do not awe or marvel. they are long acquainted with the silph heir.

he meet her in the lobby, equally unfazed.

"Silph" she replies in the same tone of voice. "I was told you used to meet with Kyle to discuss the gym inspections. So I came to fulfill my duties as champion." She was trying her best to emulate kyle, she didn't want hoenn to become a place full of fear and doubt thanks to his passing. She needed to become the new pillar of strength for the league.[break][break]

However, she dreaded this. Fernando always made her feel...uncomfortable. She didn't really feel like her liked her, well to be honest, he didn't seem to really like anyone. "Shall we move to a more appropriate stage for this discussion?" [break][break]

HE FOLLOWS HER TO THE ELEVATOR but does not enter. rather, he stares at her, questioning her with a quirk of his covered eyebrow. it wrinkles under his headband.

“my office is closed,” he says all too plainly.

the elevator beeps with a curt warning. it prompts her to swipe her employee card prior to picking a floor, as if impatient.

“i thought you were taking us to the usual.”

Her bright smiley expression quickly changes into a frown of disappointment. Honestly, she wanted this meeting to be as short as possible but if they were now going to be eating together at their usual spot. [break][break]

"All right fine." [break][break]

She says as she steps out of the elevator and walks across his lobby. "I forgot what our usual spot is but im sure there's a place nearby that'll be suitable for it. You ok with Sushi for lunch?" she asks him but she was sure she saw him eat sushi before. [break][break]

She avoids eye contact with him, she was still uncomfortable with his presence, despite the time they've spent together he still managed to send a shiver down her spine since it always ended unpleasantly.

It had the world's most delicious clauncher alfredo she was absolutely fond of. She catches herself staring at it for a bit too long and changes her gaze forward.[break][break]

THEN EAT LESS. an obvious, forthright answer is thought but never voiced. for fernando remains silent until the word passes his own innate filter. a reservation that often forces him to be a man of few words.

they walk by a pasta restaurant, and a couple is eating near the window. melody stares for a second, and fernando’s eyes wander to their meal: mac and cheese. a familiar sight that is only second to the chessboard they’re eating on top of.

“open up anthony,” one of them coos, feeding their partner a spoon full of macaroni.

fernando observes, and forgets the people watching moment as they continue on.

“none,” he says plainly, brisk in pace.

They arrive to the restaurant. A kantonian themed restaurant that served a variety of different types of sushi. Melody walks in and she's instantly recognized and asks for a private booth area for the two to talk.[break][break]

She sits down and asks for a water. "So. How have things been since..." she trails off, not even wanting to say his name but it was obvious she was talking about kyle lopez.
