somewhere in hoenn, freya morningstar sneezes, tickled by the universal anomaly of fernando parroting her talking point. unfortunately, an elevator dinging distracts her from an untimely exhale.

“our rangers are more than capable and have a better understanding of the ramifications of altering our environment and the impact it has on local pokemon. you should be leveraging morales, rather than herrera.”

the file remains unopened. unsold.

Fernando's unwavering stubbornness is met with a silence that was extremely uncharacteristic of Melody.[break][break]

His onslaught of words made her grip her fist underneath the table. "So, Let me get this right just so we're clear. The waiter returns looking to take orders, but Melody's expression becomes twisted and contorted with the anger surging through her right now. The waiter gives them more time, something they always had so frighteningly little of. [break][break]

in contrast, fernando is hardly faze. he spells out his conditions as if they are fact. cold, hard truths that require no emotional attachment. it makes melody all the more off-putting to the unaware bystander.

a roll of his head cracks his neck. it rattles with the all the moves he has to make. the reallocation of pieces across an ever-changing chessboard.

“morales will spare the rangers if i ask. he’s also looking for less sensitive work for his amnesty program.”

his head tilts to the other direction.

“or perhaps i am being too harsh,” he pauses, “get approval from freya morningstar, PENELOPE LIVY, and ollie morales to remove MATIAS SILPH’ suspension, and a written statement stating that he is more capable and efficient than our rangers, and i’ll be more inclined to budge.”

He sets before her an impossible task all three of those people had been burned by him in the past. The only one even REMOTELY likely to help melody would be ollie morales. [break][break]

he expresses this statement with patience, as if explaining the difference between right and wrong to a tantrumming child. her reaction does little to incite him, for he is far above her level. numbers do not adhere to emotions, and built by experience, neither will he.

“nor do they hold the same intention when made prior to his murder.”

fernando’s attention wanders as he recites a repeating point. his hand even rests on the menu, ready to point out his choice should the wait staff grow the courage to re-approach.

“if this conversation,” he emphasizes, “is not about can we terraform the coast, and with available resources, then this conversation is pointless. i’m giving you a solution and you are refusing it because you are not satisfied with a solution that will work.”

his nose wrinkles in thought.

“and if that’s the case, i would recommend you start drinking tea and eating crumpets with calcifet immediately.”

Sure, let's diverge half the rangers who are already hard at work doing other tasks such as ohhhhh, I don't know, preparing for war? Lets make them terraform all this land for this event and waste their time and skill-set on this project. She grabs her purse and her items, she lost her appetite at this point. The surmounting stress on her mind made her no longer interested in arguing with him.[break][break]

"I don't need you or the league for this, it just goes to show if I want something done I need to do it myself." And those who would be willing to at least hear her out instead of shutting her down. "Goodbye Fernando. Elisabeth sends her regards, Tapu Fini as well. Let's hope they don't continue to whisper in his ear and you can clean up your mess." as she starts to leave the restaurant. If fernando did not attempt to stop her she'd go straight to evergrande city to meet with Thomas Benoit
