Cass passes by the Rustboro Gym - stands there for a moment, contemplating, with the Trubbish in her arms fixating on the Gym sign. "Hey, let's ... go, for now, hm?" she says to Jon, who nods, his plastic bag arms flapping as they continue.

The mood is solemn, pensive - and she only welcomes a distraction as she hears unexpected noises. She approaches, curious - then tense. "Oh, hello, Sir- uh, Mr Maher." She spots the Gym Leader of Rustboro nearby, too, and suddenly feels a bit awkward, even if she contemplated challenging him mere seconds ago.

More demand for training, huh - it does feel like the Naito Dojo also seems busier than usual. Cass recalls the past days that she's not spent in this odd haze after ... that happened. It's not obvious as people do their damnest to pretend things are normal and right, but ... Slateport has scars, that much is clear.

Hoenn at large, really.

"You can tell me the truth, I won't panic," she has murmured before her brain could catch up, could think of a better response. But ... "There's something, right?"

(She couldn't say it still. It's only in her thoughts, not again. ~~But has it ever stopped, really?~~)

Cass' knuckles turn white, before she releases it as some expression returns to her blank look. So it's confirmed - and who's to blame in a conflict that seems so old. Older than herself.

But more importantly, who's to suffer.

She releases a slow exhale, then smiles. Her hands tremble slightly. Fuck, she said she wouldn't. "Thanks for telling me." She holds Jon in her arms tight, who wriggles. Wants to prove himself, to her, to the world, to himself. "Is it okay if we watch the training a bit?"

There's a moment of surprise on Cass' face, before it softens a little bit - reminds her of Thea Naito, who also tends to invite Cass along for training. Before she could actually reply herself, however, a small, but fierce droning sound zooms past her head, towards the training field.

"Minsuk-!" she calls, appearing quite embarrassed by the sudden enthusiasm of her Cutiefly. "Uh, we'd love to join in, actually." Jon also seems eager to train. Seeing her pokémon in high spirits never fails to make her feel better.

(Right. It will all be alright. Maybe. Somehow. It has to be.)

"Then, thanks for having us," she adds, politely, and waits for Cian to take charge and lead the way.
