That morning, for no particular reason, he took a path he usually didn't on his way to Verdanturf.

The rusturf tunnel had never been his favorite place, but it had outright dropped off the rankings ever since the encounter with the mind controlled citizens and the bloody statues.

Still, it was a shortcut— at least, if he wanted to get in his daily steps instead of teleporting like a couch potato.

If he had been able to sneak in a little bit of pokemon catching along the way, it would've been a perfect route.

"Not a whole lotta bugs in places like these, though." He mused.

"Huh." Doug intoned as he ran across a large herd of Piloswine and swinub.

Thank the gods all mighty, there didn't seem to be any Mamoswine nearby. He didn't feel like trying to dodge being run over.

Still...

"That's a lotta piggies." He mused dryly, wondering where exactly all of these ice types had come from. They had come a long way from the Shoal caves, that was certain.

"Uh, let me just... if you would excuse me." He said, trying to tip toe around the many large piggies, ocassionally bumping and stumbling over the beautifully dangerous creatures.

None of them got triggered into a maddened stampede, fortunately.

By the time he got through to the other side, however...

He had something following him.

"... Huh?" He uttered dryly, scratching at his cheek as he stared at the Piloswine following after him.

He took a step to the right, it turned to look at him. To the left, same once again.

"... I wonder if Yuina would like one o' these?" He pondered dryly, scratching at the back of his head.

Yuina Higashi liked ancient pokemon... Piloswine evolved by learning ancient power, so... that kinda counted, yeah?
