ironically, mint grew up in hearthome city but in the complete opposite of the spectrum. in his past life he was known as michaelis fisk and part of the fisk family conglomerate which was just a fancy way to say a huge fairly that seemed ot have a fuck load of money and a fuck load of artistic talent, dominating the city by virtue of having a child in almost every field ( arts wise ). so mint grew up in the lap of luxury and then died and ran away etc etc etc. while mint doesn't talk about his past life he will sometimes mention he's from sinnoh and i think the fact that al if from hearthome might just automatically ake him dislike/very wary of alphonse because he doesn't want to be recognized ( but also he's an ig girly pop so like. good job on keeping that shit low key. )

anyway, idk if anyone is doing recruitment for him but i wanted to offer up int since mint is well acquainted with the science department and typically goes to the for spy gadgets and the like. if you want we could have a plot where maybe mint or rocket in general saw alphonse as potential and low key helped him avoid prison. int would want to recruit him specifically on his thievery skills and his knack with machinery, and would try approaching with a job that way. they don't have to do recruitment tho, he would just be inch rested in general and could be an avenue that helps guide alphonse towards improving that niche of himself.

mint is a beast so he's supposed to be intimidating but when his recruitment approach is the complete opposite, offering recruits as positive an association to rocket as possible. he's bubbly and chatty, and tries to keep a closed eye on the people he mentors. there's an obvious threat of punishment if you embarrass him but you know. anyway i think they could have layers is all im saying lmao.
