After the Excursions into Area Zero, and their mission to take on the Drk Triad outpost together, Thomas had been meaning to teach Elinor how to handle explosives. Once both had the time to meet up, Thomas arranged for Elinor to meet him in the desert.

Thomas was dressed for the occasion. A pair of hiking boots, cargo pants, and a white, long-sleeved shirt. A wide-brimmed hat provided his face with much needed shade, aiding the sunscreen and sunglasses that already acted as protection. When night inevitably fell, he brought a jacket with him.

If Elinor were to walk in, she'd notice that several decommissioned vehicles were present, as well as a grouping of floodlights that were currently inactive.

Thomas sat on a rock, drinking a bottle of water, while watching over a container he brought with him.

She had never thought that bomb-basics would ever be something that she would have need off. But she had been proven wrong, and since Thomas was kind enough to offer her lessons, she wasn’t about to look a gift Rapidash in the mouth.

Still, the desert was his location of choice. Even with an attire fitting the occasion, layers upon layers of sun screen, shades and other means of protecting against the sun, she found herself struggling beneath the beating sun.

Luckily the sun wasn’t going to last forever or at least she reminded herself that as she approached her would-be instructor. The decommissioned Vehicles did catch her attention for a moment as she made her way to Thomas. But she figured Thomas would explain that in due time if it was needed.

“Hello there.” She’d greet him with a mix of excitement and enthusiasm in her voice alongside a small wave.

"Elinor, glad you came!", Thomas greeted the former councilwoman warmly. Thomas pulled out a bottle of water from the ice chest. "Water?", he offered her.

Thomas gave Elinor the chance to make her choice. If she chose to accept the water, he'd give her a moment to take it in, before cutting to the chase.

"So, the vehicles here are targets to be practiced on. But before we get to that, I'll teach you how to arm the bombs. This one is a dummy bomb.", he told her, before pulling out the dummy of one of the bombs he used during their last mission together.

Thomas then demonstrated to her how he armed the bombs. He showed her that the code he punched him corresponded to a code that was found on the detonator, binding the two devices together. After pressing the button on the detonator, the cheap display on the bomb blinked rapidly, before the dummy reset itself.

"Give it a try. Take all the time you need to get used to it."
