Beckett, not the type to judge, simply nodded like that made perfect since. To the white-haired youth, it probably did. The idea of giving your Pokémon a much-needed bath, especially before an important meeting, didn’t strike him as odd at all.

“Most of my Pokémon aren’t big on cold baths either,” he agreed, trying hard not to be a stuttering mess. Though he was sure, he still came off sounding nervous. There was nothing to be done about that, though; he was generally a meek person.

Upon the introduction, his gaze briefly flickered to the older male’s offered hand. “I-It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, M....Alex. I’m afraid I’m not big on physical contact, but it’s only a problem with people, not Pokémon,” he explained, dipping his head to the other male.

“Anyway, my name’s Beckett, but feel free to call me Beck.”

His own introduction was a bit rushed, as if to dispel any awkwardness his earlier reaction might have brought up. Hopefully the gym leader would just roll with it and the conversation would just move along.

At the question, he tried not to come across as too eager, but he still perked up. “I’ve always loved flying types; I'm fascinated by them, especially if they’re bird Pokémon. I’ve learned a great deal about caring about flying types, including how to properly exercise them. I tend to think of my Pokémon not just as Pokémon but as family, and I treat them as such. My Pokémon mean everything to me.”

Hopefully, that would answer his question. Considering how he had been brought up, he had trouble socializing. This also meant that he had trouble putting his thoughts into words or tended to ramble, probably due to nervous energy.

Instantly, he would follow after the others, quite eager to see what the sanctuary looked like. Upon seeing the whole sanctuary laid out before him for the first time, his eyes widened. The way he seemed to take everything in was like that of a kid in a candy shop.

It took a few minutes for him to note the fact that there were Pokémon outside of flying types out and about. This caused him to send the older male a questioning look. “You also keep around Pokémon that aren’t flying types?” he asked, immediately dropping his gaze.[break] Alexei Ivanov
