at the edge of the sandbar, a small dragon floats listlessly in the water. aeris stays close to her side as she approaches and crouches down. the tastugiri's sac deflates and freya sits back down, cross-legged, hands gentle as she draws the creature into her lap. the current rolls over her legs, making a makeshift tide pool. 

moxie, from around her neck, hums softly and a wishful glow spreads stardust over the limp dragon.

nearby, salamence continue to bask in the sun. flygon drift over the water. and garchomp do whatever it is they do.

the tatsugiri eventually comes to. it lingers a while, drifting in her arms, nibbling at the fingers she wriggles for its entertainment. salt clings to her skin. her hair drifts around her like a bed of bleached seaweed. 

eventually, she untucks her legs and the tatsugiri leaves, swimming off and back into the deep. her dragons continue their play. the hydreigon that attempts to ward them off is met with enough fire and fang to send it skittering back to its seaside dwelling.

she strokes moxie's pink scales and lays down on her back, feeling at peace. balanced, if only for a while.

her fair skin starts to redden so she sheds what's left of her clothes and wades into the water. her dragonair swim about her, brushing slick scales against her skin, and she reminisces on a memory not her own: a dark cave, candles lit blue by ritual and soulfire. 

she plunges under the water, feeling the salt sting on her sun-warmed flesh. a welcome cold cradles her closer and she breathes out. bubbles tickle her cheeks and she draws back into herself, echoes quieted by the dull hum of the ocean. 

when she breaks back to the surface, her dragons have welcomed another into their flock. the ever grande draciary still has room for more denizens.
