El Sunderland
El blinks a bit, at Lucia's sudden outburst - they didn't expect that from the young child, let alone for her to drop a surprise 'damn'! But, they nonetheless offer a sympathetic expression, not about to scold Lucia's language; they weren't her parent, and if you really boiled it down it was ultimately harmless.
Instead, as Lucia - or Lucy, introduced herself, they smiled warm. "It's nice to meet you, Lucy, Hero. This, uhm, probably ain't the safest place to train - but I'm happy to help watch your back while we're both up here."
Ysera would happily accept Lucia's touch - making a soft and gentle croon, as she gently nuzzled the child's palm.
Noting the interaction, El smiled brightly. "Most Hydreigon you wanna be careful about - they can be real testy. But Ysera's a complete sweetheart." They spoke, gently scratching one of her heads. Really, they were pretty sure that the only times Ysera ever gets so much as annoyed or agitated was during dangerous situations.
Haro seemed to appreciate the attention as well, making a few more quacks and twirling about.
Bibidi, meanwhile, simply appeared equal parts appreciative and amused - reaching down to pat Lucia on the head.
The questions, however, came enforce - and El blinked, before being unable to help a warm bashful laugh. "Well, uhm... Bibidi, and another pokemon I still have in his ball here - a Nidoking named Behemoth - were gifts from my older brother. Isaac Merlo, if you've ever seen him?" With how much of a social butterfly Isaac could be, they wouldn't be surprised if she did.
"Ysera was from a trade - though she originated from the Safari Zone. And Haro sort of found me, rather than the other way around, heh!" They chuckle a little with this. Really, it wasn't everyday you found a wild Porygon deciding to root through your game consoles.
"The other two pokeballs here have an Aggron named Kiryuko, she's, uhm, a bit of a long story... And then I have what's called a Paradox Pokémon - a Walking Wake named Patrasche, who I met out in the Giant Chasm in the Icefields."
But as for strength... That was one of the last things they usually worried about, for their pokemon, even if they somehow happened to surround themself with tough pokemon all the same... "Most of my pokemon can stand their ground in a fight; though Haro's not here for fighting - it's here to assist me with my Ranger work. Bibidi can fight, but mostly acts as my service pokemon." They gesture to their bad knee and cane with this, to indicate why they might need a service pokemon.
"To find strong pokemon, though, uhm..." El wonders what the best thing to say here would be. Because to just care about a pokemon's strength and nothing else wasn't really the way to go, right?
"... Spend time bonding with the pokemon you've got; and learn what they do best at. If you invest time and love into your pokemon, they'll repay it tenfold." They soon settled on, adding "And if you do find a new pokemon, don't discount it right off the bat if it doesn't seem strong in the traditional sense. There's a lot more that matters in the long run than just that."
