"been long enough!" lam remarks as he walks alongside CIAN MAHER toward where the lilycove powerspot had risen up from the earth months before. it'd been a minute, but then, a lot had happened in the last few months, hadn't it?[break][break]

not to mention it'd taken some time to get his hands on the dynamax band now fit comfortably on his left wrist.[break][break]

"think this'll go better than the last time?"[break][break]

surely, it would. probably a little difficult to top the darumaka disaster of their trip to the spot in the ultra deep sea. now they had the proper tech, they'd have a better handle on things.[break][break]

“Sure hope not, that’d be a mess.” And in the same vein, he’d prefer to avoid seeing Peaches explode or something. It won’t happen, of course. He’s tested the dynamax band on his own–just to see how the mechanic worked.[break][break]
But a battle where his own pokemon’s been super-sized is something he’s yet to actually do. “How’s the spot in Rustboro holding up since they installed it?” he asks as they make their way over to glowing hub of dynergy.

It’s easy to fall back in with Cian. It always is. Lam’s never had trouble getting along with the other man, no matter his past affiliations. Hopefully, he can feel just as confident in Lam’s companionship.[break][break]
He doesn’t voice any of this, but nods along with the gym leader’s run down. It’s good to hear–reassuring, given that he’s still feeling dynamax out.[break][break]
“The reaction’s been pretty similar to what you’re describing. I think the Vital City Tournament really stoked the general enthusiasm for it, seeing all those big pokemon battling right here in the city.”[break][break]
Honestly, he wouldn’t be surprised if they got some curious spectators showing up to have a look at their practice today. After all, it wasn’t exactly easy to be discreet with building-sized pokemon out and about.[break][break]
“Not sure how I feel about it, myself, though,” he shrugs, “I’ve permitted its use for matches like any other skill is, but I’m still getting the hang of it.”[break][break]
