he was here to be escorted into the mines of rusturf tunnel. he was in search of a water stone. there were many who already came, cadis was just another addition. he'd put in a request for an escort. whether that escort came or not didn't matter to him. he'd go inside himself if he had to.

staryu stood beside cadis. casually awaiting to enter the cave they were promised to venture. with a water bottle in the palm of his right hand, he'd look down at his pokemon. without warning, he poured water atop of it. "i apologize about this, staryu. i know you're antsy to get in there, don't worry. we'll be in there soon, just need to wait a little longer." cadis wondered if they were late or something had happened.

regardless, he bided his time for now. casually stroking and cleaning staryu's jewel as they waited. it wouldn't be long now.

Racing over in a frantic manner, Petra was almost certain she'd been late to the pseudo tour she was supposed to give of the mines in Rusturf Tunnel. There was always demand for it's stones, but now more than ever it seemed trainers were flooding these places in search of their bountiful harvests.

“Hello there.” She uttered at the sight of the young man, who had been present and patiently waiting on her alongside his Staryu. “And hello to you!” She greeted the pokemon with a distinct fondness, having only seen a few Staryu in her lifetime. Mostly in illustrations... But that wasn't why she was here!

“My name is Petra. I'm sorry to have kept the two of you waiting. We can head on inside now if you'd like.” Adorning her usual smile, she would gesture towards the entrance with one hand while the other sifted through her robe for a pokeball. Unleashing the pokemon inside, her Charmander would act as a living torch as it wandered forth into the tunnel without delay...

"ah, it's nice to meet you, ms. petra!" in return he'd also introduce himself, "dawn grandier, a pleasure!" he jovially greeted. following behind the guide. he was ecstatic for the venture.

upon entering the cavern. a vast scenery befell him. mixed in with the casual granite found in everyday life, there were shimmering rocks that stood out due to shape or sheen. but none that looked to be of a stone. "beautiful!" with staryu at his side, he'd comment, "i suppose we'll just have to scavenge through the various rocks to find the appropriate stone for staryu." dawn stated. turning toward petra, he'd ask, "have you done this before?" inquiring if this was her first rodeo acting as a guide.

"i'm not very familiar with stones. i've only ever heard of their majestic capability to evolve certain pokemon. the science behind has always poked my interest, of course!" a jovial tone. being able to learn about power of evolutionary stones and witness with his very eyes was simply riveting. to some, perhaps boring, but not to dawn. "please educate me well, ms. petra!"

“Well, I can't say that I fully understand the means of how evolution stones work...” Guiding dawn grandier inside, she took note of the rock cluster he'd taken a moment to observe. “But I do know what they should look like. And yes, we'll have to turn this place over a bit before we find what you're looking for... Though it should be well worth what little wait we have ahead of us. I haven't seen many Starmie in my day, so even I should consider it a reward to be here.”

Leading deeper into the throat of the cave, Petra's gaze lingered towards the ground where water would pool if it were there. She didn't imagine the stones to reside high up above them among the cave's ceiling, so that was where Petra decided to search first. Meanwhile, she did her best to make conversation...

“Your name, or title I guess... It sounds vaguely familiar. Can you tell me why that might be?” In the meantime Charmander found a sizable cranny in the wall that he began peering into rather curiously before getting down to crawl in.

"right?! aren't staryu's just the most beautiful creatures to ever lay your eyes upon!" dawn's orbs shimmered brightly with delight. talking about the beautiful pokemon made him an eccentric. "the jewels in the center of their body are just amazing to admire. their shine and glow can catch the eye of many thieves, which is why they're so rare because they tend to hide from humans who're after their jewels. a lot of nasty fellows in this world!" of course, dawn would never do something so heinous. he values pokemon all too well, though he can't speak for his subordinates.

all the while, staryu trailed behind the charmander. following the fiery creature in search of what resided ahead. "hey, hey!" he'd grab hold of starmie's arm. tugging it back to ensure its safety, "be careful there..." he instructed. turning back toward petra, she'd ask of identity. "oh, w-well, that's probably because you might've seen me every now and then in the media." his cheeks glow red from sheer embarrassment. "i-i-i-i-i-i try my best to stay out of the limelight!" arms began to flail, he was utterly ashamed. "to be seen by the world it's just too embarrassing, i'm sorry!" who he was apologizing to? no idea! he was quite the...expressive fellow.

peeking from behind softly cream colored hands. dawn, with a sheepish grin, would massage the nape of his neck. "i don't exactly do well with eyes all on me, haha. you see, i'm a coordinator--or, well, a coordinator whose on break." he informed her, a soft smile given.

“Really?! I thought it was something I've heard on the tele before, how exciting that must be!” Fascinated with meeting a celebrity, Petra did nothing to deter her Charmander from crawling into the hole. Not until the light from it's burning tail left them just shy of being blind here in the dark.

“Hey...get back out here, will you?” Crawling back out, the Charmander seemed to have something it was carrying in it's mouth. It shimmered from the light given off by the pokemon's tail, though that appeared to be because it was wet.

“Sorry, where were we... Ah, right. Thieves. They'll get their's in the end, one way or another.” Making a slight frown as she considered the optimistic notion to be half false, Petra followed her Charmander along after making it spit out the ordinary rock it fetched from within the hole it crawled.

“If you ever do return to showbiz, I would very much like to see you and your Staryu, or Starmie perform live.”

"mm, i'll be sure to send you a ticket!" he'd stand, continuing their walk, "i'm actually on break for awhile. traveling can be a bit tiring, so i thought why not come back and celebrate with the region of hoenn." dawn spoke, turning toward petra, "the defeat rocket's boss and their disbandment of rocket is all the buzz. hoenn's a safe place to visit once more, so many young and prospering will surely emerge very soon."

it was then that there was something odd ahead of them. staryu waltzed over to look at the glint that captured dawn and its eye. "oh! what's that ahead?" dawn uttered, pointing toward the twinkling light.

“Thank you for the offer. And yeah, perhaps you're right about that...” Petra considered the notion carefully, wishing the best for the region and it's people. Yet regardless of any defeat Team Rocket suffered, she didn't seem to be of the mind that all the evildoers had suddenly vanished.

But before she could get any further with that line of thought, Petra heard Dawn Grandier inquiring about the glimmering shape up ahead. “Huh? ...Oh!”

While she'd been wondering aimlessly, it appeared that he and his Staryu had come across one of the precious minerals they were trying to locate. “I believe this is what you're looking for... You've got a good eye. Anyway, you might as well...”

Gesturing to the duo for them to mine it if they so pleased, Petra began scanning about their immediate surroundings in hopes of finding her own treasure of sorts. Which would prove a bit difficult, seeing as she hadn't anything particular in mind...

time passes during their mining. it was then the stone came to show itself. "go ahead," he pushed. the staryu, touching the stone, became a starmie. mission accomplished. turning toward petra, dawn would thank her. "i don't know how we could've found this without your help, miss petra! thank you again!"
