petalburg woods housed a lot of wildlife. it was also filled with countless berry trees of all kinds. the woods were gentle and aromatic year-round because of it. it was also filled with aipom that liked to grab berries and chuck them around for fun... which spoiled the fruit and created sticky paths that disrupted travelers and pokemon alike.[break][break]

and haoyu was locked in a harrowing battle with a trio of them. "let's talk about this," he insisted, as if aipom would listen and as if he could properly negotiate with such agile terrorists. one tossed a persim that he couldn't dodge, but that lurantis could slash into bits before it struck him.[break][break]

These Aipom should have known better than to throw fruit at strangers, not only was it rude and wasteful, but also liable to attract predators. [break][break]

"Wait, wait, wait!" A voice came into earshot, branches snapping and breaking as a Noivern burst through the canopy, their rider riddled with small scrapes from branches and leaves. The Pokémon snatched one of the berries out of the air, crunching it happily between fanged jaws.[break][break]

Guess it was lucky for these Aipom that this predator was only after the fruit. "Really? We came down for some berries?!" The rider sighed, pulling leaves and twigs out of his clothes and hair.[break][break]

It took a moment for him to see the other trainer, an embarrassed shade of crimson creeping into his cheeks upon realization. "Oh. Hey."

his heart had nearly jumped out of his chest at the sight of the gigantic dragon plopping down. in fact, his long life might've flashed before his eyes. he was lightly clutching his chest as he caught his breath. the noivern was simply eating berries.[break][break]

"well, you're not what i expected to see today..." his alarmed gaze grew weary as he saw an aipom ready another berry. "i've been trying to get these aipom to scatter, but even your sudden appearance hasn't deterred them." he was running out of ideas and lurantis was growing tired.[break][break]
