Safety was setting up furniture and aligning his schedule, as the sun settled into the nest of blue, because hell was about to arrive in the following days, and without organization, there would be no steering through the barrage of mangled bodies set for his office.

When the door opened, Cyrus didn't turn to look. Her aura gave it away instantly. And so did her potent perfume.

He was standing to the left of the room, broad shoulders overlooking the additional steel table he'd shoved against the wall. The more he stared, the more certainty tugged his heart to the right.
