She had received a rather concerning phone call with one of her new friends. robin coello. [break][break]

Well she at least considered her a friend as she stood by melody's side during the war. That was good enough for her to call her a friend, she was doing some last minute cleaning up. It became a lot easier when she could animate the objects but it took a LOT of concentration to handle so many individual moving pieces. [break][break]

Meloetta was also helping here and there with her own psychic, helping train melly. She also could've hired people to do it themselves but where was the fun in that? She had to practice fine control with it anyways so two birds one stone. [break][break]

However he concentration was broken when her fated guest arrived.

Her move to Lilycove was meant to be an exciting change, but it had been soured by the confrontation with her mother. Her mom's reveal that Robin's birthright was fake all along had been a devastating blow to her identity, exacerbated by the fact that she had genuinely developed psychic abilities that her so-called 'psychic' family had never had. [break][break]

Nausea constantly found her. It could've been vertigo from her permanent hearing loss after Sootopolis, but she was pretty sure it was a physical manifestation of guilt and anger and resentment. Which is all to say, after a week of it, she had succumbed to calling Melody and requesting a chat about special abilities and all that, insisting she had big news for the champion. She wasn't sure who to trust with this information, but Melody was top of the list. [break][break]

So, she entered Melody's place with her best smile, which fell flat immediately. "Hey, long time no see." She didn't sound like herself; the usual excitement that surrounded her was replaced with exhaustion. "Sorry about the random call. I just, um, I don't know who else to trust with this kind of thing. It's kind of hard to believe, but I think you'll understand given your whole..." She gestured vaguely to Melody and the Meloetta.

As she suddenly drops all the objects she was manipulating at once. "What's on your mind? The phone wasn't letting me make out even half of it" she asks as it couldn't have been easy to face off against Zev Harcourt. [break][break]

She was pretty sure she knew what it was that she wanted to talk about but Melody was going to let her speak as this was for her. Facing off against necrozma is not something that was easy to get used to, she had faced countless perils and anomalies. It was to the point it was almost numb to her now. Kyogre, the tree, the screams of people suffering during the war. [break][break]

She'd be a pillar for the girl to lean on.

Melody was so accepting and open and warm. Robin's confession spilled out of her like a dam breaking. "Um, I might've mentioned before that I come from a family of psychics - the Clairvoyant Coellos - but I've always been the only one who can't do what they can, right? Psychic pokemon don't like me, never have, and I've never had, like, the ability to see things like they can." A black sheep. She'd always been the black sheep. She'd taken to the company of ghosts over her own family with how ostracized she'd been. [break][break]

"I had a vision of a shiny duskull like forever ago, like a portent or something, but my mom had never believed me. But then! In Sootopolis, before the big fight broke out but when we were first on the scene, me and Roy and Gwen, we had fought all these Genesects and, uh, there was this cave, right?" She'd taken to pacing across the living room. "I saw a glowing rock or whatever - Roy kinda made it turn green or something, I don't really know - but all the while, I'd seen it. The duskull."[break][break]

She released Omen from his pokeball. "Him! He's the very one from my vision, the exact same. I'd gone through, like, a maze! To get to him. And when I made contact with him, I felt, like, empowered?" Her birthright. She'd claimed it. [break][break]

"I have visions now. I had one, in Sootopolis, when Necrozma appeared. I saw red in the water. And then it happened just like I foresaw."

Visions? A psychic. Psychic humans didn't exist, said the girl who could use telekinesis to lift the objects in her kitchen so that they'd clean themselves.[break][break]

"Visions huh?" she says as both Melody and the Meloetta look the duskull up and down. Was he the one responsible for the visions? No...it didn't really seem like it. "Well, it's not so far fetched...I mean some pokemon can use future sight to get glimpses of the future..."[break][break]

However Melody moves on over to her couch and waves for robint of follow her and tosses her a blanket to get cozy "Have you had any other visions ever since?"

Melody doesn't outright call her a liar, which provides great comfort. She follows the Champion over and accepts the blanket, though she bundles it up on her lap and squeezes it, needing something to hold. "I get, like, flickers of something, but I can't really make it out. I don't know when they'll come." Sootopolis had brought her one when she was in great distress, that of the blood in the water, but her first had been when she saw Omen. [break][break]

She'd been juggling a lot of adrenaline at that point, but she hadn't been scared. She'd been investigating ruins. Two visions was too little to draw conclusions. [break][break]

"I have a heightened intuition. I know when pokemon are about to attack right before they do. Like a stronger sixth sense. I think... I think I need to go to the Border. My connection with ghosts feels really strong. I feel like sometimes I can hear them before they manifest in our plane." She didn't know how else to explain it. "I don't really know how else to safely explore it. How did you, like, get familiar with your abilities? Did you just know what to do?"

Melody crosses her arms and thinks for a bit, how could one trigger something they didn't really understand. Was there a common thread between all of the times she had one? [break][break]

When robin asks Melody how she discovered her abilities, she gives robin a bit more information. "It seems to vary from person to person, I had an inkling for mine...im still discovering how they work but uh..." she says as she feels conflicted about one ability in particular she had discovered when she used it on Grigori Sokolov. [break][break]

"Hmmmmm" she says as she tries to think about what exactly to say to robin. "Is there not a common thread between all the visions? Maybe we should start there, if you think it's related to the borders or ghosts maybe then we should follow that lead. If you want me to help that is." [break][break]
