Doireann is sighing out lengthily after waving Chrysanthe goodbye, to wherever she may be off to this time, but within safe-enough confinements that he doesn't have to worry as much about her as he would normally do. Having her as a trainer is both wonderful and quite worrisome. But, well, he guesses he can be grateful that he isn't the only one looking out for her?[break]

Which, still ... he shakes his head. There is still just one thing that worries him, and he lets out another long, long sigh - sitting down on a nearby rock, he gazes towards the deep blue of the sky. Just how far to go for his own pride?

important ranger business has come up, leaving silverio with little choice other than to attend to it, which begs a question: what to do with the baby pokémon held firmly in his hands. as much as he would insist on raising this extraordinary specimen to be a valuable ally during his exploits, unfortunately, time was not on his side - and it hadn't been for the last several weeks now.[break][break]

and so, a darling little eevee that has been entrusted to him is left in the care of another. temporarily. a lively little thing, he is, and curious to boot. a fellow pokémon by their lonesome catches the eevee's eye; he scoots around the rock it's seated on, in the hope of garnering the mawile's attention, his fluffy tail swaying to and fro all the while, with excitement akin to a newly-crowned champion.[break][break]

The Mawile, left alone to the side compared to many others, it would never have quite expected to gain company like this - but when there is suddenly an excited-looking Eevee in front of him, it's only left to decide whether such a thing is to be celebrated or not. After all, maybe, distraction is the answer to everything ... but then again, it isn't like his worries would disappear so soon just because he tries not to think about them.[break]

Still, the knightly figure offers a gentle smile to the Eeevee, patting the space next to him, if he so wishes to sit down next to him. "Oh, why - hello there, young fellow, I hope you have been well," Doireann tries not to let his emotions show as much again, but - still, another sigh is escaping.

he managed to grab the mawile's attention, but for how long will it humor the eevee? perhaps the entire day, or so the acclaimed evolution pokémon would only so. a greeting, welcoming the eevee's presence. suppose there's too much fluff in that tail of his to ignore after all. and so, silverio's little four-legged doll would indulge; it props into a readied stance, like a proud lion in pursuit of its prey.[break][break]

one hop and...oof! he makes the jump, just barely though - maybe he ought to work on his timing, positioning, and...legwork! upon a somewhat rocky landing, the eevee claims the seat offered, beside the mawile. "hey there! i'm doin' just swell, thank you!" answers the eevee, but a huff passing through the steely critter's lips raises concern. "you're lookin' a lil down yourself. what's wrong?"

To be honest, the Mawile is quite surprised over the Eevee's jump to sit next to him, though he supposes such a small Pokémon can hold quite the energy after all. Ruby-coloured eyes that are watching carefully as the smaller one attempts the jump, ready to assist and help him up if needed, he cannot help the sigh of relief he lets out as the Eevee is sat and seated for. "Good job," he offers a smile after a stunned silence, patting the other lightly on the head.[break]
[break]
However, such a small moment of respite is little to distract him, let alone solve the issue he's been plagued with for so long ... It feels silly, now that he's properly asked and questioned about what's going on. It almost feels like he should really just dismiss it, but ... Then again, for how long can he keep this madness up? "I'm glad you're doing well," the Mawile firstly speaks with a nod, "it's just ... how to say ... Have you ever had ..." He pauses, his head resisting to say the words, but what good will it do to keep it in? "... Have you ever had stomach issues ...?"[break]

There, he said it. The earth may swallow him whole.

perhaps any other pokémon making that jump would've had a far easier time that the eevee did. nonetheless, he made it in one piece and that's what counts. what's more was that the silly little fluff ball now has some company as he eagerly awaits the return of his trainer from his routine run and carrying out his duties. unexpectedly, the mawile offers praise in the form of a headpat - something that silverio would sometimes do as well as a show of affection. needless to say it excites the eevee, his bushy tail erratically swaying.[break][break]

"thanks buddy, i've been practicing quite a lot!" and apparently, it shows. although this daring doesn't seem to stray too far from the concerns that allegedly plagued the steel-fairy pokémon. the question renders the eevee's mouth agape for a moment. in a strange yet comprehensible way, the fluffy guy can relate to the (literally) internal struggle, with some of that being his own fault, admittedly. as he would state...[break][break]

"stomach issues, oh boy, have i! sure have, mainly when i eat stuff that i shouldn't while my human's not looking, hehe...he helps take care of me when that happens, but then gives me an earful right after i start feeling better. hahaha...are you having the same problem?"

The Eevee is quite an adorable one - in parts, it reminds Doireann of his trainer, the young girl who seems to have emerged from a fairytale-like world into this cruel reality, and yet she has elevated someone like the Mawile to be her protector. He wonders what the future might have in store for someone like her, and for someone like the Eevee. "I'm sure you'll have it figured out in no time!" he offers in support, but all the positive thoughts aren't enough to divert from the sighing issue.[break]

Fully expecting to be laughed at or ridiculed, some form of internalised shame coming over him when - well, that feeling doesn't actually settle. Instead, as he listens on to the young one's tale, it's a little familiar yet different. "Oh ... you are dealing with stomach issues, too?" Even the word - stomach issues comes more gently off his tongue. "I think ... a little similar, but not quite. My Princess, you see - she likes to try out lots of stuff and always gives me things that she thinks I might like. But ... but she ends up giving me a lot of really - odd things lately? I don't want to hurt her feelings, so ..." He turns around a bit, pointing at the large mouth that sort-of hangs off his head. "This one doesn't taste anything, so anything I don't like goes through here, and yet ... I end up with stomach issues anyway, and I don't know what to do ..." The Mawile pauses after telling his story, looking at the Eevee curiously. "You just ... ask your human to help you? What do they normally do?" It seems like a far-away thought that things could be as easy as asking for help.

practice makes perfect, after all. however, perfection cannot be rushed. with that in mind, the baby eevee will happily accept any form of praise he can get, even if it's not from his acclaimed human at this very moment. in any case, downtime with a potentially new companion is worth investing the time to fool around in this establishment. perhaps all the spunk in the eevee's genes can be deciphered as a reason that very few other pokémon would indulge in entertaining him - suppose that most of them couldn't keep with his seemingly boundless energy.[break][break]

the fluff nods along to the mawile's story, excitement evident in the flowing of his tail to and fro. "if you ask me, i'd say that it sounds like your 'princess' really does like you a lot, and that she's trying her hardest in caring for you. but i also think that hiding the truth about your discomfort isn't really a good look for you." if there's anything that the eevee has learned from his trainer thus far, its to express oneself in a manner you're most comfortable with.[break][break]

"for example, whenever my tummy feels like it's been turned upside-down, my human gives me something cool to drink, then gives me big and soft belly rubs! i can't really explain how that works, but that always seems to do the trick for me!" beady eyes turn their attention to the other 'mouth' of the fairy-steel pokémon. "whoa man, that's pretty cool! does that mean you could eat twice as much as anyone and not feel full? or...?"

If one were to tell the Mawile that it would find counselling from a hyperactive Eevee today about the thing that has been plaguing him for months, he wouldn't have quite believed it, to be honest, but ... in this moment, he finds comforting wisdom in the - supposedly - younger Pokémon, tears forming in his eyes with not only the way that the other is taking his predicament serious, not considering it an anomaly he should simply suppress like he did before, but also offers quite some advice he should take to heart. Sniffing, Doireann finds himself chuckling a little as he says, "you are really wise, aren't you? I'm sure you're a wonderful partner for your trainer." Even if the Eevee inflicts stomach issues on himself, there is just a positive force he feels from him quite.[break]

Nodding alongside his next words, he has to remember - oh, something cool? And belly rubs ... Without thinking, Doireann finds himself rubbing over his own stomach a little as he nods. "I see ... maybe I'll see about asking my princess about it, too," he nods with determination. Whatever this 'cool liquid' is, hopefully it won't taste awful! And if it does, hopefully it will actually make him feel better! How else would he protect Chrysanthe? Over the curiosity of the Eevee, though, he lets out an amused laugh, "it would be nice if that were true ... but no, I can still only eat as much as fits in my stomach. It's just about the taste, it all lands-" He bellydrums a bit (it makes him feel silly, but hopefully, the Eevee won't think of it as much), "-all in here." Speaking of food, though ... "Now, you only listened to me rant and all, do you want to see if we can find a berry or so? As a thanks from me to you, or if there is anything else you wanna do!"

to hear such high praise from a fellow pokémon renders the fluffy little one with a funny tingling in his tummy, and not because of his growing appetite at the mention of berries -- his favorite snack. he hadn't envisioned himself playing the role of a therapist today, but unique experiences such as this were all the more reason to embrace every nook and cranny of life, because you'll never know who or what you'll run into, and when or where. all that matters was that one looks to seize the opportunities presented to them. in the case of the mawile and eevee, the latter saw it as a chance to perhaps make a new friend here.[break][break]

"d'aw, that's real nice of you to say, and i think your princess will feel right at home having you as her protector." should the mawile ask about the aforementioned 'cool liquid', then the eevee would likely be plagued with a bout of embarrassment upon stating that it's mostly water. in any case, it's kind of a bummer that the extra mouth doesn't seem to account for a potentially heightened appetite; there's only so much that the fluffy one himself could stomach before sustaining that inevitable bloated feeling in his gut.[break][break]

still, the evolution pokémon yelps with glee, eager to invest the time remaining in indulging his newfound companion -- if only for a day, perhaps. "ooh yeah! i love berries! i especially like the round yellow ones that look like pears. i think they're called...citrus berries!? what're we waiting for, let's go let's go let's go!!" and with that, the eevee swiftly leaps off to the floow below, tail rapidly swaying to signal his excitement. "lead the way, pal!"
