It was a rather unhinged location to host a rather interesting discussion but melody had booked a private spa for them to talk after the situation with matias. She never got the chance to talk to her before the war with rocket began so they had to postpone it until after the results of sootopolis. [break][break]

Her hair was wrapped up in a towel as she sat at the edge of the pool. She had told Annalise to meet her here but she wondered if the ranger would actually show up.

She did indeed seem happy, she had years of experiences when it came to swallowing the less desirable emotions that were not befitting a woman of her stature. [break][break]

"Listen I only did it to help cover it up, if someone came along and asked questions I didn't want to have to lie and make up something as to why we weren't done." she says as Melody moves the mineral water floating in the springs. The lovely emerald water was so pleasant. [break][break]

"You don't think I'm mad at you for kissing him right?" she asks to clarify the understanding of the situation. "I mean don't misunderstand, it makes me uncomfortable considering my history with him but...I can't tell you what to do in your personal life."[break][break]

She says as Melody turns away from annalise and her hair begins to float in the air, she tries to focus on something else while she talks to annalise awkwardly. It was rare for her to be vulnerable like this in front of others, the sound of a small music box plays quietly in the background as Melody pulls water and shapes it into the form of a small humanoid dancing ballet on the surface of the water. "Just the timing of it was all....and I guess that fact I'm worried what he'll do to you. I've never seen things end nicely for Matias so I just don't want to see you end up the same way is all Annalise."

"And I've known him for almost four, annalise. He rescued me from Rocket prison and worked his way up to e4 with me." she says as she still vividly remembers how he was in the beginning. [break][break]

She sucks at putting it into spoken words so she decides to instead show annalise, the music grows louder granting her better control of her abilities, humanoids and Pokémon shapes form from the water as Melody starts to replay different scenes across all of her interactions with Matias [break][break]

"I've seen him at his best" as she creates the scene from her release from rocket. [break][break]

"To his worst." scenes from Primal. [break][break]

"He's seen me broken and beaten." as she then creates the scene of their fight during her breakdown from the nihilego toxin.[break][break]

"I've defended him, I've fought back against him, and in the end all I've seen with Matias is one consistent trait. He will always take the opportunity to indulge himself in what he wants. Once something more interesting comes along or promises of power, he'll do whatever to get it." she warns as the final little pair that the scene displays is annalise and Matias hugging and then dissipating into the water. She places her hands up in surrender to annalise. "I know, I know, I sound like a total bitch, it isn't my place to talk about it like this, but you helped me through a really tough spot. I'm just worried." so much was going on lately, and she wore her heart on her sleeve. [break][break]

She was so lonely in her position that she couldn't bear to see annalise get hurt.

annalise's head turns, searching for the source of the music that intensifies around them. her gaze settles back on melody as she starts to form shapes out of the water, painting her history with matias through impossible imagery. it's as much of an impressive feat as it is irritating. [break][break]melody is meddling.[break][break] maybe her annoyance shows in her face because the idol raises her hands in resignation once the performance ends, explaining herself. [break][break]"you don't sound like a total bitch," she assures, voice softening briefly before resuming a level, uncompromising tone. "but — yeah. you're overstepping. there's nothing to worry about, melody. i know who he is."[break][break]is it impossible to imagine annalise walking — willing and wanting — into a fire to feel some warmth? other people make blood covenants with gods knowing it brings them closer to ruin. melody and meloetta. annalise and MATIAS SILPH. poisons, all.[break][break]her eyes linger on melody a heartbeat longer, assessing the look on her face. and then she repeats her reassurance: [break][break]"we'll be fine." She stays silent for a moment, processing annalise's response as the water puppets eventually plop back into the pool. [break][break]

The woman was upset with her, she wasn't good with people being upset with the idol. Usually she was on the other side of this conversation, chastising others for their wrongdoings. Others have tried to make her feel remorse for her actions yet annalise wore the badge of honor for actually making melody feel remorse. [break][break]

She sinks further into the water and stares at Annalise for a moment. "I mean...not really...I just kind of wanted to enjoy the water with you." she says as her eyes trail off to the side, clearly sad. [break][break]

"You don't have to stay if you don't want to. I'd understand." she said pretty much already accepting annalise would most likely just leave. She knew how she felt about annalise but she wasn't sure about how the ranger woman felt about her.

melody gives her no kindling to keep the fire of her irritation going. if anything, it extinguishes in the moments that follow, doused by the confession that the idol just wanted to enjoy the water with her. annalise knows loneliness, the desperation for connection. she imagines it briefly — getting up out of the water and simply leaving — but her body remains enveloped in the warmth of the spring, soothing her frayed nerves with the heat of it. [break][break]"i'm staying," she decides, paradoxically cooling off at this hot spring. she looks like she wants to say more, eyes narrowed with indecision. then, "thank you for looking out for me, melody. i know you mean well — you always do." [break][break]gratitude comes as a grand gesture for annalise. it's easier for her to blow up and leave. it's harder to stay. she can't look melody in the eyes and promise every disagreement will end so perfectly. [break][break] "have you ever bought lava cookies from this place?" she tries, shifting her attention toward melody, shifting the conversation toward something more pleasant.
