It has supposed to be quite a relaxing day - the sunlight pouring out as if nothing could ever disturb the actions that turned into routine over years and years of the same, yet slightly different. In the late sun of the coming autumn, the grass is shimmering emerald as she steps out of the door, ready to welcome her early noon duties before she is off to prepare lunch for herself and her Pokémon. However ... as she picks up one of her gardening tools, she notices that her usual helper around this time, Branwen the Fomantis, is missing.[break]

"Perhaps she's still napping?" Islwyn wonders to herself, walking leisurely towards the place where she usually finds the sleeping soul - but before she can even get as far, there is a frantically jumping figure in the distance, pointing to somewhere. Looking at the Fomantis, she tilts her head in question, but comes closer nonetheless, "what got you so riled up, my dear?"

The forest ranger cannot quite stop wondering what has the Fomantis all agitated like this when he usually prefers to nap in silence, hissing at everyone that might be disturbing her sleep quite so. Seeing it roaming so freely during the day and venturing forth into the forests of Route 119 ... well, Islwyn actually does not know what it should mean, considering the fact that it never happened before. There is no such as a precedent to this, so she can only go by instinct and trust alone.[break]
[break]
Together, they trudge through the forest, a familiar stubbornness exuding from the Pokémon as finally, they seem to come to a halt. A hurt Maractus is standing there, wounded grievously and - as it seems - barely holding onto its life, on the edge of fainting. The image immediately causes her to act, unfolding an emergency kit that she always has with her. "Hey ... it's okay," Islwyn speaks softly with a gentle smile, "we are not here to harm you. In fact, it's thanks to this friend that we are able to help you, if you want." She gives the Fomantis a small head-pat, who seems quite helpless as to what to do. It's a surprise sight for the usually rather apathetic one, and it makes her wonder what she must have been up to today already, not taking her usual naps ... hm. For now, though, she carefully moves to flick together the most serious wounds, hoping that even if the Maractus does not wish to come with them, it could do fine without. She picks out a pokéball from her pocket, holding it near the other without making contact.[break]
