There were few things Allegra loved more than swimming through the Water Routes, moving as one with her Pokémon. She seldom had the chance to do so given her busy schedule, and as such her goal was to enjoy herself first and foremost. She had never been Champion material, anyway, and her days as a Top Coordinator had come to an end when she'd denounced the Fisk Conglomerate. She was happy as an ordinary coordinator, though, and of course as a violinist. Noemi couldn't ruin her talents, not any more than her love for the waters.[break][break]

Allegra shook her head as though to clear it, droplets flying from the waves of her hair, and took a breath before submerging. It was peaceful in the depths, and she smiled as her Primarina approached, seemingly wanting to show her something from how it nudged at her. She swam onward, letting Cadenza lead the way.

Though there were no Water-type Pokémon that Allegra disliked per se, there were those she was indifferent towards; and Slowpoke was firmly in the latter group. Its expression might be relaxing, but she had no real interest in raising a Pokémon that wasn't beautiful or even smart.[break][break]

While Cadenza had befriended a Slowking instead, whose intelligence rivaled that of human scientists, the coordinator still wasn't exactly eager to catch it. She couldn't see herself using it in Beauty-focused contests, or anywhere else to be honest, and it would be a waste to have it lounging around when other Trainers could appreciate its genius level intellect.[break][break]

And yet, she couldn't quite bring herself to deny her Primarina a new friend either. Their relationship had never been the same after she'd given up on opera — or after opera had given up on her, as she'd told an interviewer —, and she knew that despite the affection between them Cadenza felt less important compared to Adagio. Besides, she might have a purpose for this Slowking after all; namely, to have it help with her work for Team Rocket. If nothing else, a partner Pokémon would make her persona more convincing.[break][break]

Having made up her mind, Allegra smiled at the pair and swam upwards, breaking the water's surface then heading towards the shore. In the time it took her to retrieve her bag, which she'd left in the Milotic's care, both Cadenza and the Slowking emerged as well.[break][break]

“You're more than welcome aboard,” she told the latter, “as long as you make yourself useful. If that sounds agreeable, I can tell you the details once we're home.”
