I'd feel bad otherwise," Cass replies, holding the package for Vess to take stubbornly. However, their exchange, this moment of normalcy, is quickly cut short as well - a Rocket intruder! And apparently one that doesn't mind battling two teens - perhaps also a teen themself. Their Pidgeot is swiftly hit by two enraged attacks - a squad of Falinks and a Ralts that both seem incredibly unhappy. It's always reassuring to see Vess and her align in such matters, even if it might turn out to be a bad idea afterwards - what matters to her is that she isn't alone there, having someone by her side.
"Hah, take that you snack-stealing bastard!" she continues to mock the Rocket, whose Pidgeot shakes off their opponent with a Hurricane - Azelf's squarely sent flying towards Cass, who manages to catch it, but almost lands on her bottoms as well.
"Okay, well, guess it's- ... ... Umlaut!" she calls, fumbling for her pokéballs and throwing them out with somewhat of a grand flourish - though it kinda fails since she's still fighting for her balance, only managing to stabilise completely with a little Psychic help. The pokéball is rather unassuming - though it's taken a slight purple tinge since recently, and it's quickly revealed why that might be. A Toedscruel appears, but ... instead of simply having the usual amount of arms, Umlaut also has several toxic chain appendages ... frankly, it does creep Cass out a nudge, but he hasn't really changed personality-wise ... which is also not the greatest thing.
Still, she didn't call him for his ground or poison so far - instead, she nods at the Ralts that's been floating again, ready to go. "Umlaut, Electrify Amadeus," she says, definitely not picking the same name she picked before for it. "And then, Expanding Force again!"
The Rocket shakes their head, however, as they also call another pokémon to the field - a Houndstone appears, though it also seems to have more of a Shadow aura to it ... and in addition, they grin as their hand goes to their wrist. "Pidgeot, Mega-evolve! Then Hurricane again! Houndstone, Shadow Blast!"
The Pidgeot caws as it is wrapped in bright light, just to emerge and flap its wings to cause a Hurricane. It mixes up partially with the crackling and Electrifyed Expanding Force. The flying move manages to sweeps Umlaut off his feet, still, however, hurling him high into the air.
The Houndstone leaps up from behind - aiming the Shadow Blast at the brass of the Falinks.
