A shuckle hidden in the nearby greenery found itself at the center of the second wave of ancient power. Rocks rain relentlessly against its shell. Withdrawing into its shell it tries to withstand the attack, and it would.

For all of one moment's breath. The next wave of ancient power tore rocks from the earth's crust and propelled them through the air to crush the fleeing pokemon.

Two bastiodons inch through the forest. Raising it as they went the prehistoric pokemon wreak havoc to the local wildlife. An ancient power courses through the very ground they walk upon. The earth fractures as it's pulled up and through the air.

Taking the brunt of the attack was a Crustle. Who despite the current adversaries stood strong to the bastiodons. It blasts rocks towards them which crash harmlessly against their thick hides. Unphased the two pokemon continue to pump ancient power through the ground to continue their next wave of assault.

Gravity flattens the Nincada against the ground. It was as if the weight of an anvil had been thrown thrust upon it. Hardening its shell it attempts to alleviate the immeasurable pain it was going through.

Dusknoir looks down at the bug pokemon with its unblinking eye. Its face was devoid of emotion as it watches Nincada squirm underneath its attack. Once satisfied with the show it'd bring a flurry of ice punches down.

There was a light at the end of the tunnel when Lucas laid eyes upon the fossil pokemon. Unlike the previous bugs he'd caught he tries to coerce this one. He shows it affection and offers it food. But the itsy bitsy Anortih didn't want any of it. A gentle nudge of a pokeball only frustrates it.

So Lucas crushes it with a barrage of ancient power from all the fossil pokemon he had on hand.

It went without saying at this point for Lucas' pokemon to attack any bug pokemon in sight. They pump a ancient power through the forest floor like it was second nature.

Charjabug is at the center of the next round of assault. It releases a pent up charge in futile retaliation. Rampardos is swift to bring down the hammer of justice by calling forth a swift ancient power.

Like countless others, Lucas left the forest looking like a natural disaster just struck. Trees lay shattered upon ground streaked with cracks and holes. The pokemon that lived there only hours ago have either fled in fear of their life. Or if they were part of the unlucky few they were plucked from not only their homes but their families as well.

Ninjask became a member of these unfortunate few. Ancient power and night slashes collide till it could fight no more.

Lucas wasn't the only one that brought grief and turmoil to the Petalburg Woods. In the distance, he could see smoke rising into the air. No doubt from one of the contest participants, Lucas thought.

Appearing from the same direction as the smoke was a Caterpie. Lucas looks it over for a moment. He notes the lack of burns and decided to go through with capturing the pokemon. Ancient power crushes the Caterpie with raised earth.
