He had heard of this special area a while ago, and had encountered it in the different regions he had traveled to. Kanto was the first one, possibly, to have done this concept. A zone where special pokemons, selected by a group of wardens, were free to roam around. And for a small donation, trainers were allowed to try catching some of them.[break][break]

Well, today was the time where Balder would attempt this adventure. He had purchased a ticket not long ago and had almost forgotten to use it. But as he was taking a small break from his gym, the man believed it was a good opportunity to go and see a new scenery. To be able to experience something difference to wandering the routes of the region and finding random pokemons.[break][break]

Arriving at the Warden's house, serving as the entrance of the Safari Zone, Balder reviewed the pokemons that were available for this time. Chikorita, Ralts, Qwilfish, Buneary, Mienfoo, Herracross and Cottonee. Out of those pokemons, the Alolan man kinda hoped he could get his hands on the Ralts and the Chikorita, but one couldn't exactly guess what pokemon he would encounter in this place. After reviewing the board, the young man flashed his ticket to the warden and entered the zone, ready to try gaining the pokemons he wanted.

Not long after entering the zone did he end up face to face with a young Buneary. The little bunny seemed lost, and to have been born not too long ago. Could it be looking for his mother? If memory served right, this creature normally evolves into a Lopunny, and it would make sense that the evolved form would be the parents in this present case.[break][break]

Still, as the trainer grew closer to the rabbit, to see what was going on exactly, the Buneary spotted him. Ears standing straight on his head, the pokemon stayed still for a small moment before escaping into the wilderness and vanishing from sight almost instantly. Of course, this was a natural reaction in front of something he never knew about.[break][break]

And Balder had no intention to chase it. He didn't want to capture it, even though he lacks a bunny for his totem gym. Removing this little baby from his family right now seemed a bit too horrible. Yet, he wanted to make sure the little one would reach his family correctly. Balder opened one of his pokeballs, sending Falco, his Braviary, out in the wild.[break][break]

"Falco, I want you to go search for that Buneary, make sure it reaches its family. But don't approach him or hurt him, unless he's in danger." The bird nodded before taking flight, soaring over the trees and searching for the bunny. His mind set at ease, Balder resumed his walk into the Safari Zone, wondering what he'll encounter next.

While Falco was out to guide the Rabbit, Balder decided to venture further into the location. Carefully, he moved the branches out of his way as he took a decisive step forward. As he kept on advancing, the Totem Leader tried to be careful with where he was stepping and where he was heading, making sure not to arm the nature around him whilst trying to be quiet.[break][break]

It didn't take long for him to arrive at a clearing covered with multiple flowers. The giant stared at the fields, analyzing their content. In the middle of the flowers, a Mienfoo stood, admiring the location. It seemed like the pokemon loved this location, as it was focusing entirely on the nature that surrounded him.[break][break]

An interesting target. Mienfoos were known to evolve into Mienshao, who were quite strong fighters. Passing on this opportunity would be a shame. Balder pulled one of the safari pokeballs he was given at the start of the adventure, and grabbed a rock on the ground as well. The man threw it as hard as possible having it land at the opposite side of where he has, distracting the fox fighter. As soon as the Mienfoo looked in the rock's direction, Balder threw the pokeball, hoping to catch it.

The capture had worked. The ball shook a couple of times amidst the flower, before doing the low tone sound to confirm the capture. The alolan man smiled as he went to collect his catch. With this, the team for the totem gym had acquired a new guardian and would allow for a bigger diversity in the challenges. The man stuffed the pokeball in his pockets, before looking around.[break][break]

His eyes stop on a creature at the edge of the clearing. A blue bob cut, with two orange horns popping out. An incredible find in this remote location: a ralts, in its shiny variant. One of Balder's target for this hunt, raised to a whole new level. The man couldn't allow for sure a perfect opportunity and creature to escape from his grasp. But... how should he approach the Ralts?[break][break]

No use pondering about it. The young man plucked a flower from the field and grabbed some oran berries from his pocket. The man slowly advanced towards the shining creature, who proceeded to hide behind a tree as Balder approached. "It's alright, little one. I'm not here to hurt you." The little creature poked a part of it's head out slowly, clearly wary and scared of the man.[break][break]

Suddenly, thoughts were pushed into the gym leader's head: Questions, asking if it was safe. If the man could be trusted. Why would he be trusted. So the creature could use telepathy... Balder sat down, surprising the Ralts. The man then placed the berries in his hand and extended it towards the careful pokemon. "I don't have any actual proof that I'm not dangerous. But if you can communicate to my mind, surely you can read my intents too. I want you to join me, in making this world a better place. If you grab the berries, I'll assume that you're willing to come with me. Of course, I'll need to put you in a pokeball as per the rules of the safari, but still. What do you say? Want to see a bigger world and help me defend it?"
