the last time he was here, there was a dog. this time, there's a dog again. the only criteria needed by the safari zone to attract the one and only kyle motherfuckin' lopez was to have a dog in their roster. he still doesn't know why they haven't done that a lot.

a lot of the wild pokemon in the safari zone were babies. small and cute and tiny, they fit the mouths of his mightyena very well. they tear easy and their limbs offer no contest when it comes to a race against one of nature's most organized hunting parties. kyle lets his pokemon do all the work cause they don't seem to mind and see it as play anyways.

he sets up a lawn chair underneath the shade of a tree and let his pokemon roam under the strict instruction not to hurt or maim or kill any wild pokemon indiscriminately. they are to either chase it to his direction or directly bring them to him while he goes to play his game in peace.

one of his mightyena brings a fennekin by the scruff to their trainer. this wasn't what kyle was trying to find. he shakes his head and shoos his pokemon off. his mightyena releases the fennekin before bounding away and finding another pokemon.

he has been playing a phone game all this time while his pokemon were out doing their game of fetch. when one of them brings a houndour by the scruff, kyle widens his eyes and points at the pokemon on the mightyena's jaw.

"yes! that's one!"

the mightyena's intimidate brings the houndour to an immediate submission. while kyle's pokemon were barely a year old, the sheer strength brought by excessive training and experience was made apparent to the smaller, younger canine pokemon. the dark-type drops his fellow dark-type, the small hound crumpling on the presence of the mightyena.

kyle whistles, temporarily taking the attention of the wild pokemon from delta to him. he tosses a pokeball on one hand up in the air, catching it as it free falls back to his hand, and then stands up. he throws it not unlike a baseball and pitched it to the houndour's head, taking it within the capsule for a capture.

another mightyena brings another houndour to him. a smile forms on his face, enough to make him walk over to the thrown pokeball and get another one to ready the capture with.

the houndour is dropped by the mightyena in between his paws, though the canine quickly changes appearance as soon as it hits the ground. kyle's enthusiasm lessens, smile still remaining but the shine on his eyes fading. "a zorua's good too," he convinces himself.

he throws a pokeball at the zorua, frozen in fear with two of the mightyena intimidating it, and gets captured within the ball.

it started to rain. the smell of wet dog fur would start to linger in the area, the kind of scent that kyle has grown numb to. he worries more on the chair he brought, but realizes that there was nothing to be done.

from the corner of his eyes, he spots a politoed. "get that," he barks to the mightyena gathered before him, which is like two of them.

the politoed sees both of them going for him. its first response was to hop away from the trouble, but the canines find no trouble in chasing it down. one tackles it and takes it down to the ground. the other blasts a wave of snarl at it up close, leaving it weak and shook from the impact of the move.

with it vulnerable for capture, kyle subconsciously gets a ball to throw it at it.

the rain stops, thankfully. unfortunately, it doesn't really make the wetness go away and kyle is now stuck with his wet shirt clinging on his skin. it felt weird.

a murkrow flies overhead, but kyle ignores it cause it wasn't a dog nor was it relevant at his moment of need.

the gligar is still ignored cause it's gliding through the air and away from kyle's field of vision. he doesn't see it as he concentrates on squeezing the wetness out of his shirt and his hair.
