Red eyes whirled back, teeth glinting in the pale moonlight as the downwind smell of a stranger suddenly hits his senses. The savage snarl that rumbles from his throat is feral and terrifying - or would be, if the victim was in any way scared of wolves in the night.[break][break]

Emma stops short at Hades' reaction, careful not to make any sudden moves. It's unusual for another person to be out here with her unless they were the predator themself, or some wanna-be hero trying to make a headline for themself.[break][break]

The woman and her Sableye don't give her the vibe of a person looking for their ten seconds of fame. She speaks, but her voice comes across softly and with some ounce of fear or anxiety. The dark-haired woman narrows her eyes cautiously, tilting her nose up as her Lycanroc emerges from his hiding spot. [break][break]

Emma's eyes follow the woman's hand to her pokeball, an indication she was in some way threatened by her presence.[break][break]

"I'm going to find whoever or whatever is responsible, yes."

Emma's eyes narrow dangerously, a quick scan of the other woman gives her a second to judge her silently. There had never been an instance in her life where she had needed help - and she certainly didn't need it now.[break][break]

Yet, it seemed that regardless of her answer, this woman would follow her regardless. She didn't seem the type to turn around and walk away, to some extent it appeared she was genuine about the situation. Perhaps she might be useful, even as a distraction.[break][break]

"Fine."[break][break]

The dark-haired woman glances down at the stranger's Sableye, a curious Pokemon with rubies for eyes. Hades grunts, jerking his head away and back towards his master to gauge her reaction. In the end, he didn't care what happened - he was only here to protect Emma.[break][break]

Emma follows the small creature's finger as it points, and she irritably gestures for Eden to take the lead.[break][break]

"After you."

There was something vaguely familiar about the young woman leading the charge into the dark void, but she didn't have the heart to put any effort into knowing where she knew her from. Her first assumption was that she likely worked for Rocket at the same time she had. Of course, Emma had never had the patience or interest in getting to know any of the other members - she had been under Silas' charge and his alone for the most part. She'd had no interest at all in making friends in an organization as heartless as his had been.[break][break]

For a while they walk in silence, Emma the type to not initiate conversation in any instance. In fact, she was probably a little bit irritated to have teamed up with the girl, but she hadn't wanted to appear suspicious or draw unwanted attention to herself, so she had felt forced to agree. And, admittedly, she was a little thankful for the woman's Sableye. It might come in handy later, though it absolutely gave her the shivers.[break][break]

Ghost-type Pokemon had never been a favourite of hers. She had recently come into possession of a pokedoll she had assumed was just that, a doll. It had absolutely not been a doll as the moment she picked it up it moved and complained.[break][break]

For a while longer they remain quiet, Emma remaining unapproachable. Suddenly, however, there's a loud noise or commotion next to them but hidden in the shadows of the trees. She hesitates, whispering ahead of her for Eden to stop and be alert.[break][break]

"I hear something, be quiet."[break][break]

Lycanroc remains motionless, his husky breathing the only sound in the eerie woods.

Eden's hand-gesture complaint that she was already quiet was dutifully ignored while Emma waited patiently for the group of Hypno to walk past. Her eyes were narrowed and she looked angry, or maybe that's just how she always looked.[break][break]

The last one trundles past, it's pendulum swinging dangerously as it makes good work on the children and Pokemon it had stolen. They seem to walk in a trance, unsure where they're going or why, and unable to fight the psychic power holding their mind in prison.[break][break]

What frustrated the woman the most was the fact that she was at a loss for what to do. Normally her targets were single individuals, easy enough for her to assassinate solo. This was not the case now that six Hypno and their captives had walked past.[break][break]

Setting her jaw and thinking hard, she glances at her temporary partners Sableye. It's creepiness sends shivers down her spine, but it'll be helpful.[break][break]

"You'll be the bait and distraction. I need you to bring the Hypno to a secluded area where we can attack them from all sides."[break][break]

As she says this she quietly, after the Hypno have already moved past, releases three spiders. Galvantula, Ariados and Araquanid all stand poised, clicking their fangs together in anticipation. Emma gestures for them to hunt the Hypno from above and to wait for her mark.[break][break]

"We need to do this quickly and quietly, psychic Pokemon are dangerous."

Eden tries to make conversation, to explain to her what her plan is, but she's so out of touch with her own thoughts that she doesn't respond.[break][break]

She shouldn't be here, she shouldn't be wasting her time, risking her life, throwing herself into the headlights of danger. What is she gaining from rescuing these people from the Hypno? What kind of adrenaline rush was she so desperate for? No one was even going to know she had intervened, that she had done good. No one was going to care, because she was never going to take the credit for it.[break][break]

She nearly bites her tongue, silencing her self-destructive thoughts. She's already started moving, ignoring Eden and focusing on the plan she had organized.[break][break]

The woman and her Skorupi take off to distract and gather the attention of the Hypno, who take the bait eagerly. They chomp at the bit, sickeningly excited about taking on their next target. Their pendulums swing but Eden and Skorupi appear immune, or turn their faces away in time to avoid it. They run, run deep into the forest, into the waiting arms of her spiders.[break][break]

Their thin webs glisten in the light, almost invisible. Eden would pass right between them and they'd be immediately replaced with sticky thread. It trips up the first Hypno and causes a domino effect. Soon enough, all six are wrapped up in webs and being bitten and harassed and threatened into silence. Three unique spiders stand on top of them, a constant thrum of hissing the only sound that breaks the silence.[break][break]

"Hades, see if you can smell any trace of their captives on them. We won't need them."[break][break]

She wrinkles her nose at them in distaste. It's unsurprising to her that even Pokemon are evil. [break][break]

To Eden, she glances over her to make sure she's alright. She makes a subtle nod of her chin.[break][break]

"You alright?"

Emma pauses in surprise, it's written all over her face. She had absolutely not expected the girl to burst into a fit of laughter as a result of her plan. It hadn't been that funny, had it? Surely not. It had been practical and practiced, and ridiculously easy to pull off.[break][break]

She doesn't speak, however, or respond in any other way than by relaxing her face and remaining indifferent and unaffected once again. [break][break]

"Good."[break][break]

Her Lycanroc grunts as he glances at the pile of tangled up monsters. [break][break]

At Eden's mention of dealing with the mound, Emma sighs indifferently. Fortunately, however, it seems that Emma does have a plan, as Noivern appears through the opening in the trees so conveniently with a giant box. One by one the dragon plucks the Hypno into the box before taking off to leave them at some poor League official's front door.[break][break]

The woman glances back at Eden as she speaks, indicating she might have even the slightest idea of where the kidnapped individual's might be. She narrows her eyes curiously, takes one cross look at Hades, who's ears are flat with embarrassment. He hadn't smelled anything out of the ordinary, but some ordinary girl had heard the sound of children crying.[break][break]

Pathetic.[break][break]

Eden is already leading the way and the pair move after her, anxious to finish up this rescue mission and get back to who really mattered.
