Arthur lowered his sunglasses, peeking over them at @monty as he stared with bewilderment. “Are… You sure you’re my partner for this one?” he asked, the intent behind the question wasn’t to be rude but he expected someone with a little more mass. [break][break]

“Don’t get me wrong you're hot and all but uh,” he sharply inhaled through his teeth as he tried to search is mind for the right words, “I thought you’d be a little less pretty and a little more uh…” he held up his right arm and flexed his bicep, “Physically ready for this kind of thing no offense.” [break][break]

Then again he knew nothing about training dragons, but if it was anything like training his boys there was going to be a lot of heavy lifting involved and this guy looked like he couldn’t lift his way out of a brown paper bag if that made sense. Hopefully they’d have a little more muscle under all of that pretty.

First, insulted. That didn't settle well with Monty, but he decided to let it pass. This ... building of a man was supposed to be the person he tolerated that day during the mission, which was to train dragons for freya morningstar. The fact that people said 'no offense' was somehow a collective social excuse to say whatever they wanted at all times.[break][break]

How annoying. Monty's eyebrow raised, twitched with annoyance, and finally, he breathed out all of the negative thoughts he'd had. Maybe this guy wouldn't prove totally useless. And, to boot, at least the blonde had good taste. Monty was attractive if he did say so himself; though with Caius having said so, now Monty felt a smidge embarrassed.[break][break]

"Tell me, Mr. Gaumond, do you typically make a habit of presenting yourself as a muscular ass?" Monty raised a defying brow. "Or am I a special case?"[break][break]

There might have been a smidge of sarcasm in his tone... maybe.

Caius couldn't help but burst out laughing when @monty threw him an insult. It was a good one, he couldn't lie. "I was just pulling your leg buddy." he placed his hands on his hips and flashed his usual toothy smile at them.[break][break]

"I have to say, I don't think I could ask for a better partner for today's job. Though I don't know much about dragons but hey with you by my side I bet we can take care of it easy." there was an overdose of confidence in his voice, as there always was when he spoke.

While he was blessed with massive gains when it came to training Pokemon he always had issues. Ever since he first started training before his other career Caius couldn't get a hang of making anyone but himself stronger. [break][break]

"Lets whip some dragons into shape!" he'd need his confidence up for this one.

The arm around the shoulder made Monty feel even smaller than he actually was. Which was mostly annoying. He tried not to be offended about his height unless it was directly mentioned, so he shoved his annoyance aside and didn't count it against Caius' character... for now.[break][break]

"Consider my leg pulled." He pointed out, once again sarcastically, with a dry tone this time to boost his sarcasm from subtle to blatant.[break][break]

Caius' enthusiasm was either genuine or a cover and Monty wasn't entirely sure which just yet. He did know that neither of them had made a formal introduction and perhaps that's why Monty was so hesitant to trust... that and Monty had trust issues in general.[break][break]

Daddy issues, bless.[break][break]

"I'm not expert in the realm of training Dragons, but I'm fairly certain you're not supposed to 'whip' them." Supposed to save that for the bedroom, aren't you? Luckily, Monty had enough thought not to voice his opinion.

If Caius could pick up on sarcasm he might have been offended. Instead, he was still a bubbly fool. “Huh, I guess we can save the whipping for our own little training session then yeah?” he joked.[break][break]

“After you,” he bowed, pointing to the route. He had no idea where they were supposed to go if he was being truthful. He read the city and what they were supposed to do but when it came to actually doing it he was heavily unprepared. Houston and Dallas were all about training, but they weren’t dragons. He was hoping that his partner had a dragon or two but they didn’t have any experience either. Therefore they would be going in blind. [break][break]

Now, Caius didn’t mind going at it without any idea. That was part of why his sports career went so well, but this... This was the future of dragon kind on the line.. Or something.

Their ... own training session? Was he just challenged to a battle?? Oh, that would be so much more fun than this training session. But perhaps that's not what Caius had meant. Perhaps Caius meant something else, something flirty, and that had Monty giving a frown.[break][break]

It wasn't like Caius wasn't his type physically. No, the big strong types are his for sure. But Caius was blonde, in every regard. A smidge slower on the pick up than Monty cared for. He enjoyed witty banter and people he could tease sarcastically who actually understood that's what he was doing, not taking him at his word.[break][break]

The bow was to be expected. It didn't take Monty by surprise. He stepped before the tall and broad man and made his way down the route.[break][break]

"Could be that they're a bit down the route, could be that we're looking for lost little dragons. Could also be that we're playing hide-and-seek." Monty looked back a Caius with a scolding brow arched. "Do you happen to remember the details of the mission you accepted?"

Did he say something wrong? Did Monty not want to battle with him? He thought they’d like a good battle, then again he didn’t have any grass types to technically he didn’t have a whip. Maybe he should explain that he meant whipping in another sense? Like working out? Did he say it wrong? Arceus all mighty he had to learn to put a sock in it sometimes. [break][break]

Caius nearly smacked himself right then and there. His eyes darting anywhere but at @monty as he tried to think of what he’d say next. A already stressed brain was wracked for what he could do or say to sound like he knew what he was doing. [break][break]

There was no time to think, Monty looked back at him with a scolding brow a look that made Caius’ spine shiver as he stood up straight, his eyes racing from side to side as he continued to avoid the trainer’s gaze. He didn’t look at the mission brief no, but he couldn’t let them know that! How was he supposed to know mission details was important? He was a doer not a book reader, then again the briefs were like a page long but that was besides the point. [break][break]

“Yeaaaaaah,” a long drawn out a as he did his best to sound confident, “I totally looked at the details. After all, we’re training Pokemon for uh... Froyo Morningwood... Because they need strong dragon Pokemon for uh the dragon... competition place of battle? Dragoonpalooza I think they call it. You know?” [break][break]

Caius sure as hell didn’t know and the sweat collecting on his brow made that clear.

Monty completely cracked. There was no hiding how amused he was. It bubbled out into a fit of hysterical laughter, probably so loud whatever was resting in the forest, if there had been anything other than a few -- now scattering -- bird types.[break][break]

"Oh, I am so telling her you called her Froyo Morningwood. Oh Arceus, my ribs hurt." His tone was high in pitch as he nearly giggled, the amusement wasn't dead and it was held on his features with a small smile.[break][break]

"The Dragonpalooza!" Another small round of laughter as he continued walking, and then as they turned to a clearing, there were clearly a few dragon-types. They were already being waved over by the trainers who were there currently.[break][break]

Monty stopped his laughing for only a moment. But that's all it took for his composure to settle. "Okay, so, the details are, we're relieving these two. It's glorified baby-sitting, but they're dragons to do try and take it more seriously than the required reading."

Laughter. Caius heard him burst out laughing, it felt like he had just gotten punched in the chest, his stomach and heart seeming to switch places as a deep sinking feelings caught off guard. From her on out, I will read every briefing I can... he thought to himself, teeth digging into his lower lip as he listened to the onslaught of howling and cackling. This was what he got for not taking his job seriously, this was what he got being laughed at by a strong trainer. [break][break]

That said, “Ya know, it’s nice to see you smiling for once.” his embarrassment was still very much present, given away by the red of his cheeks, “You should do it more often.” [break][break]

That was at least some sort of bonus in all of this. In the time he did know Monty they seemed so serious, so maybe not reading briefing paid off after all. The two would walk for a short moment before they’d see a duo of trainers accompanied by a pack of dragon type Pokemon. [break][break]

He’d exhale and look at @monty “What do you mean? I’m Mr. serious. I’m so serious so times that people have to asks me to no be serious. On a serious meter I’m a 10 out of 10 in seriousness.”
