Today’s mission was supposed to be cleaning up the beach but not for Caius. Today he was going to be picking up the beach and looking good doing it more or less. In his hand was a bag to collect trash but that didn’t stop him from showing off. [break][break]

His attire was simple for today’s activities! A cropped top that showed off his midriff, a pair of black beach shorts and sneakers. He was more than ready for the beach! Save for his shoes. At the entrance of the beach he waited for @monty and when they arrived he’d wave, “Yo! Little guy. You ready to put in some work? Maybe we’ll tone you up today.”

That voice. There was no mistaking that voice. The second it ran through Monty's ears, he had a shiver down his spine. Black button up shirt, black shorts, black flip-flops, and metallic sunglasses. [break][break]

Clearly he appreciated dark clothing.[break][break]

The mint green hair atop his head bobbed as he turned to look at Caius with a sarcastic smile. It was actually a glare disguised as a professional smile.[break][break]

"Oh, well, would you look at that." The happy tone slowly died off, sarcasm falling and honest distaste beginning to show. "What are the odds..."

Like a cute little abyss of darkness on a bright sunny day @monty really stood out. Like a sore thumb really. "I guess you really wanna paint it black yeah?" he joked as the young man's distaste flew over his head. [break][break]

"It is really nice to see you again all things considered," he shot them his shining pearly white grin, "You look nice today, all black really brings out your... Hair." he didn't know what he was saying, he just threw his hands up. [break][break]

"So, ready for some trash collection? If we do it quickly we'll have time to grab a bite. How about ice cream? Maybe a cone or two can brighten you up." or three, or four... This guy was hard to get a beat on some times.

Brought out his, hair? For whatever reason, Monty laughed. He thought it was comical that somebody figured he'd wear black because he liked to make his hair stand out.[break][break]

The reality was, there wasn't a darker color, so this was his only option. He would have worn leather, but being on the beach, he wanted his clothes to breathe. And no, he didn't own swimwear, because he hated getting wet. Think, black cat on a rainy Halloween.[break][break]

"Yes, let's pick up some trash." And blow right over how awkward Caius had been just then. Did he make Caius nervous? How intriguing.[break][break]

"Any preferred method besides trash bags and those stupid poke sticks?" He'd really like to know because otherwise, this was going to be a very boring and very long day...

Outside, Caius was ecstatic to put in a little work with his best buddy @monty but internally he was barely holding himself together. Monty was one hell of a guy, a strong looking trainer, probably the only one he’d never want to battle one on one. And they were pretty dang hot on top of that.

It was clear what he had to do, he had to he had to make this mission interesting. Coughing into a closed fist he tried to at least look collected, “Ya know, yeah. I’m thinking we let our Pokemon loose and spice things up a bit.” the gears were turning in his head, so hard that one would have thought they could see them turning as he spoke. [break][break]

“We caaaaaaan... Make it interesting? Whoever’s team can collect more trash wins and the loser pays up somehow some way.” he was babbling a bit, his confidence seeming to ease up. How on earth could he make trash collection fun? His voice took on an uncharacteristic peep. “We could battle too...?”

Something was turning, but Monty didn't see 'the gears turning,' though he swore he could see steam. Perhaps Caius wasn't used to getting those thought gears turning. But, he came to a full sentence and even an opinion! An option! Well, look at that. Monty was nearly proud.[break][break]

Then, the words battle resounded through Monty's head, pushing everything else out. Like nothing else that Caius had worked so hard to conjure mattered. Instead, he was mesmerized by the idea of a new battle.[break][break]

"I--" Common sense slammed into his mind and reminded him that they had a job to do. "How about, yes. We let our Pokemon out to stretch and get to burning this pointless trash." The less he had to touch, the better.[break][break]

"But, as for a battle, I want to wait until after the trash collecting. It doesn't have to be a competition, but if you're insistent on the competition, then perhaps loser buys the ice cream and a whole new outfit for the winner?"[break][break]

So much for a boring day, Monty was actually a bit excited.

The steady stream of consciousness he blurted onto @monty had not only worked but peaked the male’s interest. Caius was getting better at this conversation thing if he didn’t know any better. He had to stop himself from victoriously throwing a fist into the sky as he triumphed over the fiend known as small talk. [break][break]

And then it happened. Monty made an offer that Caius couldn’t refuse. “I like the sound of that!!!” his voice boomed, he flexed with excitement, the dainty crop top he had been wearing seemed to tear in two. [break][break]

“Let’s go boys! If we win we’re getting free lunch!” Caius tossed two Pokeballs into the air, both his machamp and incineroar taking the field. “Houson, grab a few of those pointy sticks and a trash bag.” he beamed, “Dallas you use your claws. I don’t wanna see a speck of trash on this beach!” [break][break]

Caius thrusted a fist into the air,his Pokemon mimicked the move and with that the three darted off onto the beach to begin the competition without so much as a ‘ready set go’ instead he clapped his hands and went 'break'.

"O-Oh yikes." Monty whispered the small squeak of a response. Caius' booming voice was definitely a shock to him. He'd been staring right at Caius and somehow the way he'd just burst out into something that sounded akin to excitement and victory had caught Monty completely off guard.[break][break]

And then they all three did a power stance and Monty felt like he needed to make some form of a show out of releasing his Pokemon. But then the thought of making a 'coordinator' like approach for picking up trash seemed childish... but maybe he needed childish. He hadn't had much of a childhood, after all.[break][break]

Nope, he wouldn't stoop that low. Caius looked a little bit like an idiot with all those matching moves and yelling 'break,' so he held himself back and tossed out his claydol and chandelure. Gala's flames flickered and her eyes focused on the task at hand. Probably clean up, which was made evident by how Monty waved his hand impatiently at the trash while Chasm's eyes focused on different sections.[break][break]

"Get the show on the road, ice cream's at stake."

Thundering across the beach the trio was cleaning the beach with the precision of a wrecking crew. Machamp stabbing litter, placing it bags and repeating the process. Caius close behind stabbing, picking up and bagging as quickly as he could and lagging at the back of the pack was Incineroar doing his best to pick up whatever the others miss as he stuffed the bag strewn across his shoulders. [break][break]

“I love ice cream. I love ice cream. I LOVE ICE CREAM!” he was chanting to himself as he cleaned up. His eyes were focused on the task going as far as to pick up multiple pieces of trash all at once before bagging it. He HAD to beat Monty, they were such a strong trainer and beating them at anything even just trash collection would have been a win in his book.

And then it happened. On one bad step on a loose piece of paper Caius slipped, stumbling down to his knees as both of his Pokemon past him up. He reached forward, flabbergasted by this development, “Go on without me boys.” an over dramatic request given he just sort of fell.

As if poetic comedy controlled their fate, Monty's approach to picking things up was very different. Gala lit things aflame with her will-o-wisp and inferno moves, disintegrating everything into a dust. It matched the beach enough that it appeared clean, and Monty would argue it was clean, since the dust would biodegrade into nothing easily within the next twenty-four hours.[break][break]

Chasm, on the other hand, was lifting loads of trash by the hundreds from the sandy beach to the trash bin. They were working so well, that Monty was already walking toward the ice cream stand and thinking over his ice cream choice. [break][break]

Monty gave his Pokemon a satisfied nod. "Be done in no time." So, he started toward the ice cream stand. When he was passing Caius, dramatically on the beach, he popped a mint green brow and looked down at Caius-- only because the brute was on his hands and knees, otherwise, Monty would be looking up at Caius. Since the blonde easily towered over Monty's four-foot eleven-inch frame.[break][break]

"Now, which do I want? Mint Chocolate Chip, or Cookie Dough? Hmm...." Then, he teasingly tapped his chin in thought before continuing his walk toward the ice cream stand.

THEN THE CRUSTACEANS ATTACKED. spear-headed by one massive clawitzer, a horde of clauncher storm the beach. they seem disturbed, if not positively cooked by their cleaning.[break][break]

it's odd. usually one would assume pokemon would appreciate the cleaner environment, but perhaps, these shrimp find the subtle taste of ash in the water... not to their liking. the clawitzer aims- then fires an AURA SPHERE at @monty.[break][break]

This couldn’t have been it could it? Defeat. For the first time in years he had tasted it again and instead of tasting like tears and blood, it was going to taste like... Mint chip or cookie dough? Unbelievable. [break][break]

Now on all fours, despite not being hurt at all Caius clenched his eyes and looked at the ground in utter defeat. He squeezed the sand like a loose blanket beneath his grasp. Monty was stronger than him, there was no mistaking it now, but he couldn’t give up so easily. [break][break]

Caius looked up at his Pokemon only to realize they were still cleaning, his opponent had been strolling off towards the ice cream stand already, a premature victory lap by the green headed cadet. If his Pokemon still had the will to fight, so did he! [break][break]

He’d look at the sea, hoping to soak up some encouragement from the sun’s reflecting rays on the ocean top. Though, instead of beautiful water he saw... Crabs? No, they were more lobster... Then again they also looked like shrimp. Regardless of what they were one had taken the time to aim its massive claw at @monty while he claimed victory. What was Caius to do now? If the Pokemon was going to attack Monty he could win the contest easily and have them pay for his triple stacked ice cream without breaking anymore of a sweat. It was going to be that easy![break][break]

No, that wasn’t Caius’ style. He knew what he’d do! He’d do what he did best.

Darting up Caius stood up just in time to absorb the attack in Monty’s stead directly in the chest. The attack hit and hit hard surely causing the big blonde some suffering. He held his chest after the attack hit, falling back onto his knees despite his heroics. “Is that all you got... Blue... Boy.” it was like getting punched in the chest by a mack truck, except small, really small.

Caius' strong and quick steps caught Monty's attention first. He turned to see what Caius was doing, but was shocked, eyes widened, when he saw Caius' large frame drop before him, kneeling and clutching his chest. The Clawitzer was revealed. Monty's eyes narrowed beneath his metallic shades and he immediately furrowed his brows to match his cold glare.[break][break]

Now, Monty had only known Caius for about ... a collective time of maybe twenty hours so far? That Dragon training mission had taken forever after they'd gotten there. But there was something about Caius taking that blow that annoyed Monty. Maybe the fact that he hated hero times, a flaw in himself he disliked. Or perhaps it was the fact that he was so caught up in his victory he hadn't noticed the attack that probably would have put him in the hospital.[break][break]

Either way, Monty was not amused.[break][break]

"Chasm, give them hell."[break][break]

The tone he used leaked a hatred so strong his Claydol seemed to pick up on it. With a whine of a battle cry, suddenly the earth opened up beneath all the crustaceans that were heading their way.[break][break]

"Gala, blind them."[break][break]

Gala's candelabras flickered as she rotated away from Chasm's earth power and to a place that was at a good enough angle that the poisonous smog that leaked from a few of her candles would pour over the clawitzer and its army, poisoning it hopefully, but mostly just to give Chasm's area of attack less chance to make it out alive. [break][break]

With the cover his Pokemon provided, Monty had time to bend down and place a hand on Caius. His eyes never left the battle.[break][break]

"I'll be in your debt later, and I sympathize with your pain, but I'm at a type disadvantage;"[break][break]

He pulled his glasses off and looked Caius in the eyes, knowing the worry in his eyes would express better than his stern tone how badly he wanted this Clawitzer out of sight. [break][break]

"I need your help, Caius."

Dallas took no time at all to spew up a fine flame from his mouth, aiming it at the army behind the leader, “We’ll have a shot at taking out the big boy while his army is distracted.” the pain in his chest was gone when he was helping his friend fight, the way they asked him... it made him feel like he could do anything![break][break]

“Houston. get in there with dynamic punch!” the Machamp charged forward as commanded, charging its fist for one big blow to hopefully end this beach side raid, “Monty, lets finish it together! Get your big move out!”
