Sophie opened her eyes and caught sight of Chomper looking down from a gaping hole in the ceiling; a frankly disdainful look upon his face. “Ouch...” Sophie muttered to herself, clutching the side of her head. Thankfully, any injuries had been reduced to a small amount of head pain. Unsure why, Sophie tilted her head a little and caught sight of damp, yellowing sheets coating an iron frame and thin and no-longer springy mattress. Slowly, she stood – taking note of the room around her. It was a small cabin-like room, with the bed in the far corner. An old rotting desk stood in the other; a few old, water damaged books lay upon the wooden surface.
Clearly, this room hadn’t been used for a long time, at least by any human. Although, on further inspection, the floor had indents in the plated steel. As if something rather large and heavy was now calling this room home, instead. “Chomper! Try and meet me down here, okay?” The great turtle-like Pokémon nodded once and slowly and carefully moved away from the gaping maw in the steel. Sophie turned again, making her own way out into the hallway. Only to jump several meters into the air, with surprise. A boy was hanging around on the other side of the door. Sophie let out a loud, echoing scream, caught so off-guard. Her frog-like hood fell from her head, revealing the face beneath. “Y-you… you startled me! I wasn’t expecting to see someone else down here.” However, before they could share any more pleasantries. Another set of loud footsteps broke the silence. Heavy footsteps. Slamming into the metal flooring and casting an echo over the Sea Maville’s innards. “Uh oh,” Sophie said, pulling back. “You might want to run.”
The form of a great Pokémon appeared from the darkness. All the upper lights had long since burned out. It has a rock body with strange hand-like limbs acting as arms, legs and head sticking out from the boulder. “Barbaracle!” She knew this Pokémon but still lifted her Mobile, which burst into life and recorded the data into itself. “Okay, I’m catch this one!” Sophie stepped forward, her legs admitted shaking slightly, but her resolve set. “Keroro, let’s go!” From her belt, Sophie threw a dually blue Pokéball, which burst open to reveal a green frog, quite similar in design to her outfit. “Keroro, use Hydro Pump!” Without delay the Politoed released a jet of water from it’s mouth, which stuck the Barbaracle hard right in the face, knocking it off balance.
Still, it didn’t fall. It was clearly toughened by it’s stay in this old ship and had made itself a home in one of the old rooms, judging by the footprint. The barnacle’s hands glowed with a blue shine and extended into long water-like blades. It sprang forwards towards Keroro but as a frog – Politoed was able to dodge with ease. “Hypnosis!” Sophie called. The barnacle Pokémon slashed, just as a sound wave shot from Politoed’s mouth. It fell crumpled, fast asleep. Keroro fell backwards as the razor shell had stuck, even if it was much less formidable than it could have been. “Phew, okay then! Pokéball go!” Sophie pulled another similarly designed Pokéball from a pocket and threw it at the crumpled Barbaracle.
