She seems cold, the way she's rubbing at her arms and grumbling quietly to herself. Gavin thinks she should have come better prepared if she was sleeping outside. Perhaps she was homeless.

He doesn't particularly care.

"A notebook," he repeats, not picking up on her train of thought. "And?"

He watches as his Crobat pulls into a dive and sinks its poisonous fangs into a poor Rattata, carrying the little rat off into the skies.

"Why are you telling me?"

"name" she responds with, pointing to the binds of the pages. When she opens it up, the pages show a number of names - with her own being highlighted with the obvious note to remind herself.

"nicole doesn't want to forget a name, so.. nicole wants to write it down." she admits, turning to a new page. upon closer inspection, there were physical descriptions written under the names - notes for herself, in case she couldn't put a name to a face.

before she could get it, however, the slaking seemed to have crawled out from its otherwise peaceful loafing. "ah.." she starts, eyes lighting up when it enters her field of vision. she uses her other hand to pull out a pokeball, sending out a togedemaru. she then takes a moment to count on her fingers, and calls out "theta, paralyze it." and the little mouse rushed to a nuzzle on the beast.

once it was secured, she chucked a pokeball at it and the tiny mouse scurries to return to her shoulder, and gently snuggle against the chilled trainer.

"Patrick," he reaffirms, in case she's managed to forget in the short space of time since he'd told her last. Seeing as she had a tendency to forget her own name, he wouldn't be surprised.

Lucario's yelp draws Gavin's attention: it appears that a Deino has bumped into the dual-type, and true to their nature the little dragon had elected to crunch his jaws around Lucario's leg in order to get familiar with its surroundings.

Gavin wasn't having that, and neither was his partner. He doesn't even have to issue a command.

Lucario's dragon pulse catches the blind creature full in the face, knocking it unconscious.

"patrick" she quietly repeats back to him, diligently writing his name down in both book and (hopefully) in memory. Her lips curl into a small smile once she gets it down.

When she finishes, a large bird pokemon seemed to have caught her eye - the most defining feature of it being the beak. Although, it seems more like her togedemaru took more interest and, before Nicole could utter a command, the steel rodent launched itself off her shoulder to land a zing zap at the pokemon.

When it falls to the ground, Nicole was the first to pull out a pokeball and attempt to catch it.

She then turns her attention back to Patrick, who seemed to shake off a Deino who was now eating the dirt. "So.. What pokemon are Patrick looking for, again?"

Gavin is momentarily distracted from her question by the appearance of the ugliest cat he's ever seen.

Its hypnosis puts his Crobat to sleep, four wings catching the wind as it plummets from the sky. It does not wake upon landing, but a swipe of Purugly's claws is enough of a wake-up slap.

Gavin snaps his fingers.

Lucario screeches at the bulky cat, a metal sound that makes it wince and drop its guard. He follows up by hurling an aura sphere, and the offending creature is knocked unconscious.

Gavin's Crobat shakes itself and takes off after a heal pulse from Lucario sets it right.

"You asked me what Pokemon I'm looking for," he says at last, returning his attention to Nicole. "A few. Eevee, the Yungoos line, any iteration of Porygon, a Crawdaunt..."

that was, indeed, the most ugliest cat to ever walk the earth. on the other hand, her eyes were captured by a komala who seemed to have more fun in its persistent state of sleep. the young woman stares at the normal type, who seemed motionless as it hugged onto the branch... log.. thing.

though it let out a yawn, aimed at nicole and her pokemon. her togedemaru, quite the vulnerable little thing, started to yawn themselves, and she could see how drowsy it was getting. her lips tug into a frown, as she pulls out the togedemaru's pokeball to recall it.

now in her other hand, she pulls out a pokeball to let out a luxray, who seemed more than eager to hunt. it pounces at the koala, landing a heavy thunder fang on it before nicole throws a pokeball to capture. she turns her attention back. "so.. a normal type, or a dark type..?" she assumes. if her memory served her, right.
