This was the beauty of having so many spare empty Pokéballs, he could keep going and catch as many Pokémon as he had to spare.[break][break]

However, today was different as he was on a mission—he was looking for one particular avian that eluded him ever since the Galarian ban had been relaxed and new Pokémon were sighted everywhere—hell, he didn’t realize that the troublemaker of a sheep he had with him back at Fortree was actually one of the newer species, along with that weird blue-bodied avian that looked like it always had something stuck down its throat.[break][break]

While he did express interest in getting a Blaziken for himself to have around to warm up, he was in the market for a Rookidee. And this was certainly not a Rookidee.[break][break]

Come on… you can’t be serious… he thought with a sigh, wondering if his luck had gone sour once more. Leaving the meandering Combusken alone, Alexei gave the dual-type some room and skirts around it, going deeper into the ash-strewn surroundings.[break][break]

Adding to that, there was snow falling from the sky and it was starting to stick.[break][break]

That wasn’t a good thing.[break][break]

He knew this place was normally really humid due to its proximity with Mount Chimney but this was ridiculous. How could something like snow stick to a place like this?! Alexei could only shake his head before wading in deeper, cursing mentally as the ash and snow melted together to form some sort of gray icky mush.

The rumbling of the ground gave its location away before Alexei could even pinpoint the source. Turning around, he then sees a Pokémon that’s almost as tall as himself… and looks like something out of a sci-fi novel.[break][break]

What the hell is this? He thought, before the thing suddenly lunged forward, attacking with a loud Metal Burst of sound energy! Shrieking, he clapped his hands over his ears as the noise rent through the air, sounding like a thousand nails scraping on a chalk board.[break][break]

How was he going to fight this thing?![break][break]

Alexei had no idea how to fight the thing as another Metal Burst ripped through the area, forcing him down to his knees. Ugh, ow, the sound was piercing through to his head! Shaking it so he could fight through the building headache, he plucked a Pokéball at random and chucked it ward, not expecting to be met with the sight of his Lucario, glaring at the weird… thing.[break][break]

“Vincent! Take care of it!” he said through the noise, as the Lucario then charged forward in an Extreme Speed maneuver. The Duraludon then took a few moments to attack with a Breaking Swipe, an attempt to catch it—but the Lucario was faster, landing a one-two Force Palm strike on the weird Pokémon’s side.[break][break]

A Laser Focus hones in on the Lucario, but the other dual-type is faster, spinning out of the way with another one-two Force Palm strike as the weird… thing attempted another Breaking Swipe. Catching the Lucario, the jackal Pokémon growled, before firing off a point-blank Aura Sphere at what he guessed was the Duraludon’s face.[break][break]

Wherever it was.[break][break]

Honestly, the Pokémon looked like something out of a sci-fi novel![break][break]

The two continued to trade blows, Force Palm alternating with Breaking Swipe—it’s not until a second, and a third Aura Sphere brings the weird thing down to its knees.[break][break]

Seeing that it was safe, Alexei then throws a blank Pokéball at the…thing.[break][break]

Maybe someone would like this.
