His eyes trail off to a nearby tree - spotting the green gecko hanging against it. For a brief moment, he stops and their eyes lock. They stare at each other for a moment, his lips curve upwards slightly into a small smile. After the brief silence the treecko moves on, climbing up the tree and hiding itself within the tree leaves.

Their short encounter over, he moves on along the trail, now further interested in the pokemon he might see along the way.

Further off, he sees a Tepig frolicking within the short grass. He continues to smile, feeling the delight in seeing the softer side of nature. The thought of befriending and catching the fire pig comes to mind, but he shakes the thought from his mind wishing to let it be and enjoy itself. He continues his walk, the Tepig never realizing his presence and that it had been spotted playing around.

"This place is surprisingly nice." he says aloud to himself knowing that there aren't any others aside from himself in the area.

As he walks along the path, he hears the sound of barking. Attracted by the sound he pushes past some bushes to see a gray looking lost. It lets out a few more barks, but there's no response. Realizing that it may be a cub missing its pack he slowly approaches - his body crouched low to keep himself around the same height as the animal.

"Hey there buddy..." he quietly says, revealing himself to the dog.

It jolts backwards to look at the stranger. Its feet widens and quickly the dog bears its fangs with a low growl. Undeterred by the aggressive action, he slowly continues his approach.

"Shh, it's okay."

Realizing that he's not stopping, the dog quickly retreats off into the distance, rattled by the sudden encounter.

Pain! Without even realizing what happened, he finds himself lying on the ground, his back in pain from a sudden attack from behind. Pushing himself off from the ground, he looks behind him to find... wool. The sheep appears to be overjoyed in having made physical contact with him. It quickly runs backwards taking another stance and suddenly begins rolling at him again with great speed.

He doesn't dodge though as this time the sheep collides against him once more though without any actual damage. It nuzzles against him happily as it baas away.

Laughter breaks out as he pats down on the sheep - his hand sinking into the fluffy wool. The sheep doesn't seem to mind as it seems rather personable. Seeing the Wooloo's clingy nature, he lets out a sigh as he takes out one of his limited safari balls. He holds it up towards the sheep.

"Do you want to come with?" he asks. Tilting its head to the side, the Wooloo looks back to him. Their eyes lock on for a few seconds then the Wooloo taps the ball with its nose. Light envelops it as it disappears into the ball.

Feeling pretty content in befriending another pokemon he continues along the path, treading further into the safari. He pushes through a thicket of trees before stopping to the sound of faint chirping. He goes on the lookout but sees nothing, yet the chirping only grows louder. Suddenly, he feels something sharp pierce the backside of his head. He stumbles forward, grunting in pain and turns to see a familiar looking bird only different in coloration. It chirps angrily at him as it takes flight, circling to attack him once more with its claws.

He irritably clicks his tongue as he takes out a pokeball, tossing it out to let loose the Greninja hiding inside. It emerges from the white light, landing in front of him.

"Jiraiya, water shuriken!" he utters with a low growl, upset that he actually has to fend off the pokemon. The Greninja grunts, acknowledging his command and swipes its arms, flinging three solidified shurikens made of water.

The shiny Rookidee tries to evade, but its course has already been decided and its struck by the water projectiles. It plummets to the ground, striking the hard dirt. Looking down at the bird, he lets out a low sigh realizing that he might've gone overboard in defending himself. He takes out one of the two remaining safari balls in his possession and throws it at the bird, determined to better care for it.
