It had been sometime since he had started his search, and he wasn’t turning up anything—at least, not yet.[break][break]

Alexei wondered if he was going to get lucky this time around. Last time, it had been a wish list Pokémon he had sighted—which meant his trip had been cut off earlier than normal.[break][break]

Would he be running into Fire-types now? He knew that his list wasn’t that long anymore—he hoped he would be able to find a Rapidash to show Florian! And unlike the pastel-colored one, he was after the normal one—well, the ‘original’ one if you could call it that.[break][break]

Hopefully, today was going to be a good day to search for a Ponyta.[break][break]

Maybe even better if he saw that bunny-like Pokémon and make his Ranger friend jealous. He knew that the other man had a thing for rabbits, and this was more than enough to drive him bananas if he ever got his hands on one.

It was like the grass was melting all around him the closer he got.[break][break]

Wait, wait a second, Ponyta don’t do that, he thought to himself, panicking a little as he blinked. What was causing the grass to seemingly sizzle up and melt into nothingness? Looking around, he couldn’t fathom what was making the area curl up and combust like that… at least, not until he looked down and saw something that was wiggling, heading his way.[break][break]

It looked… pretty disturbing to say the least.[break][break]

“Whoa!” he helped, leaping backwards and quickly sending out his Aerodactyl, Terra, who let out a primeval roar at the sight of the Sizzlipede. Wasting no time, the smaller Pokémon quickly retaliated with a Fire Lash attack, to which the Aerodactyl countered with a sudden avalanche of rocks—a Rock Slide![break][break]

“Terra, send me a warning when you do that!” he yelped as the rocks began to rain down from so many directions. Of course, the size of them meant the Sizzlipede was going to get trapped… was it?[break][break]

A few moments later this was not the case as the Fire-type (or what he thinks is a Fire-type) managed to squeeze its way out of the cracks and retaliated with another Fire Lash attack![break][break]

“Dodge!” he called out, and the Aerodactyl boosted himself up and away with a sudden burst of Agility. A Scary Face caught the weird thing off-guard a few moments later, before the Aerodactyl closed the distance and scooped up the offending thing with a Sky Drop attack.[break][break]

A loud crashing noise announced their return—with the Aerodactyl victoriously cawing his head off once he’d dropped the passed-out Sizzlipede at his feet.[break][break]

“You really don’t mess around, huh,” he remarked as he tossed an empty Pokéball at it.
