The days were starting to blur together for Alexei, honestly. How long had it been since he started frequenting this place?[break][break]

He knew the last place he had spent much time in didn’t yield any results, and so he decided to switch locations—in hopes of finally finding the elusive one.[break][break]

While he had come across several wish list Pokémon in the past (and some he had traded away thanks to the trading forums he frequented) there was still this one particularly elusive Pokémon that refused to show up for him.[break][break]

When would he get lucky? He had heard the rumors that someone had managed to find one of their kind here… but where was it?[break][break]

Where was the little hopping bunny he was hoping to get for himself? Would he continue to be cursed with terrible luck, or would it finally turn around and show him some mercy…?

He almost let out a really loud groan of exasperation.[break][break]

Right when he already acquired a Chandelure of his own, this one decided to show up! Really?![break][break]

Looking up at the sky out of either sheer annoyance, sarcasm or anger (he wasn’t sure which) he then let out a sigh, wondering if the heavens had conspired against him at this very moment.[break][break]

“Really?” was all he could groan, giving the Lampent a wide berth before going off in another direction.[break][break]

Honestly, there were some days he just wanted to watch the world burn… and today was one of them!

Not too long from where he ventured, another Pokémon caught his sight…[break][break]

…and unfortunately, this one, he also had back at the Sanctuary![break][break]

“What, really?” he continued with a sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose. It was pretty much ready to give out due to sheer stress. Sighing, he then left the Larvitar to mind its own business, keeping as wide a berth as he could as possible because holy hell balls, the Larvitar line were capable of leveling out a mountain if given the chance.[break][break]

He knew how much dirt they consumed, and how much disastrous potential they had to change the landscape all around them.[break][break]

“Well, what’m I going to get next,” he mumbled to himself, eyes raking the dusty area for something… anything even, a sign of what he was looking for.

He thought he heard something shifting. Like, there was something…. Crushing? Pounding? The area into dust. Where the heck’s the noise coming from? he thought, looking around in a very confused manner. It didn’t take long for him to pick out the source of the strange noises…[break][break]

And when he did see what was causing it, he felt ready to collapse to the ground out of sheer joy.[break][break]

Although, who was he going to send out against the… the… the cutest rabbit Pokémon he had ever seen?! He was pretty sure his Ranger friend was going to have a shit fit the moment the other found out about this rabbit Pokémon. While most of the Flying-types were itching for blood, he figured, why not have the rabbit square off against a Lucario?[break][break]

“Vincent, I am so sorry you have to do this, but… help me out here,” he remarked as the Lucario appeared from the Moon Ball he’d tossed forward. “Show ‘im a good fight for us, yeah?”[break][break]

And off the Lucario went, seemingly warping close to the Scorbunny in a burst of Extreme Speed. Shocked that there was something attacking it, the Fire-type quickly propelled itself up into the air in a Bounce maneuver—a move that Alexei recognized because some of his non-Flying types had it.[break][break]

“Careful!” he called out, and the Lucario switched tactics, quickly conjuring up an orb of auric energy and meeting the incoming Scorbunny’s attack with an Aura Sphere to the face. Not amused, the Fire-type sped up, propelling itself forward with an Agility before trying to Counter whatever the Lucario was going to do—[break][break]

And instead meeting air.[break][break]

A second Aura Sphere clobbered the side of the Scorbunny’s head, rendering the Counter it had attempted utterly useless.[break][break]

“Sure, may be a little dumb, but nothing a few good training sessions can’t fix,” he said with a smirk on his face as he threw out an empty Pokéball at the fallen Fire-type.
