he realizes a pikachu wasn't the right choice. it was small and cute and wasn't really terrifying and scary like a braviary. besides, his espeon already fits the cute mascot archetype of his team if his shroomish hadn't already.

priam needs a better replacement for his braviary that just wouldn't succeed on the process of becoming a shadow pokemon.

his search leads him to the rusturf tunnel, where he lingers around aimlessly until he finds something interesting. anything better than a pikachu was going to be accepted at this point.

"what can you even do against that?"

priam stares at his espeon that took the field against the wild empoleon. the espeon frowns in frustration, knowing that what her trainer said was true.

"just hit it until it falls!"

the espeon gives up and exhales from a deep breath. its eyes glow as its psychic manifest, throwing the empoleon to the wall with force. it tries to get up, but the psychic-type barrages it with the same attack until it does fall.

priam throws a pokeball at it before it can stand up. he supposed empoleon would do if his braviary doesn't become some kind of super cool pokemon. if it does, he supposed he can just give this away or something.
