Mawile (Hyper Cutter): Taunt | Spit-Up | Crunch | Swallow | Stockpile | Play Rough

Cerridwen the Mawile was amazed by the safari zone's rocky canyon area. She'd never seen anything like it. She'd never seen anything like Hoenn in general, really. Holon seemed like a completely different world to it. But, looking back over her shoulder at her silver-haired trainer, she was relieved to have at least one familiar sight by her here.

Beckett, in the meantime, wearing a grey sweatshirt with brown trousers and hiking boots, kept his eyes vigilant as he panned the area for any sign of wild pokémon. According to the warden, there had been a surge of Steel-type pokémon recently— a type he was particularly fond of. He wondered exactly what had prompted them to leave their secluded habitats...

It wasn't long before the pair came across a steely-eyed Galarian Farfetch'd that came out from a nearby cave. It stopped directly across from them, blocking their path as it readied itself with its giant leek and squawked at Dwen. Beckett amusedly smiled, titled his head, then narrowed his eyes at the bird. "You sure you wanna do this, pal?"

His loyal Mawile was already determined to accept the challenge the Farfetch'd had presented, however, and pivoted around to show her massive jaws at it. When it leaped in to deliver a Brutal Swing, she took the blow gladly before striking back with a devastating Crunch. Rewarded with a mouthful of feathers for it, she giggled as she looked over her shoulder and saw the bird run away with a series of panicked squawks. Its butt was nakey.

A uniquely colored Honedge! What a magnificent find! Dwen thought so, too, as she readied herself once more for battle. Pivoting in place to show her back and, more importantly, her massive black jaw to her opponent, she waited for Beckett's command as the floating blade drew closer. The way it sailed through the air so swiftly and silently... it almost seemed like a dance!

Unfortunately, the 'dance' served to distract that trainer long enough for the blade to launch a Sacred Sword attack at the Mawile. Shielding herself as best she could with a mound of dirt she quickly Stockpiled into her maw, however, Dwen was quick to retaliate when Beck finally snapped out of it.

"Crunch!"

He commanded, reaching for an empty safari ball when the Mawile managed to clamp the blade between her powerful jaws. Its voice, like a ghostly scream, echoed throughout the canyon. Beck was quick to follow up with that safari ball.

The dormant Golett sat in the middle of the dusty path, and Dwen slowly approached to give it a sniff. Beck, on the other hand, was absolutely fascinated by it. He rushed over to bend down and inspect its markings with a wide smile on his face. Unfortunately, when he tapped it, the golem awoke. It shuddered and stood up as its internal mechanisms came to life.

It eyed the Mawile for a second, and Beck was wide-eyed by the contact... up until it decided to slam its arm down on her. Dazed for a moment as she stumbled backward, an action that her trainer mimicked, Dwen shook herself out of it and growled. Just as the Golett took several steps towards her for another Hammer Arm, she swung her massive jaws towards it and snapped it up in a crunch. After shaking it around like a ragdoll, she tossed it away into a heap. It was time to move on.

Beckett watched with keen interest as a Falinks walked back and forth across the path ahead. It didn't appear to notice him or Dwen as they approached. And, if it did, it certainly made no move to show the fact. Dwen turned over her shoulder to regard her trainer as they neared it, unsure whether he wanted to initiate a battle or not... seeing as how the Falinks made no aggressive move whatsoever.

Ultimately deciding he'd rather leave the wild pokémon, however, Beckett ushered his Mawile to keep moving as they waited for it to pass across then proceeded foward. He turned back to see the Falinks one last time as they walked farther and farther away. It was continuing its 'patrol' and had yet to show any sign that it had seen them. How bizarre.

It wasn't long before the pair came across a rather peculiar sight: a Charmander crossing the dirt road ahead of them while... playing drums with its pot belly. Rather than freeze up and tilt his head in confusion, however, Beckett smiled shortly before he outright laughed. How strange! Dwen seemed less than amused, however.

When the Charmander noticed their presence through Beckett's laughter, the Mawile placed herself defensively in front of her trainer moments before flames dripped from its mouth and it charged forward. The attempted FIre Fang clashed with her Crunch in a ferocious battle of teeth, but it was the larger set of jaws that would end up winning the day. Snatching up the little fire lizard sideways, it smashed it back down onto the ground with a violent shake before Beckett managed to wipe away the tear from his eye and retrieve and empty Safari Ball.

Why not catch such a silly Charmander?
