"What the fuck is going on here?"[break][break]

River curses loudly, whirling on his heel as he stumbles through the same grove of trees. He had already seen the star-shaped moss growing at the base of the tree. He'd already touched it and ultimately gassed himself with whatever hallucinogenic potency that was making him trip balls and hallucinate monsters chasing him.[break][break]

Or maybe he wasn't hallucinating. Maybe there really was something chasing him, mocking him, giggling in the darkness. Whenever he'd look over his shoulder he'd just barely miss the eyeballs blink shut. But he could hear their snickers, their laughter, their mockery.[break][break]

"Get me out of here, goddamnit!"[break][break]

He'd cry out, but the effort in which he swings himself around to challenge his tormenter turns him straight into the base of a tree. He knocks himself out cold.

Sidonie had heard of the rare moss growing in the area. t'was why she was here. she did not, however, calculate finding an unconscious body in these woods. standing over the boy, she'd raise a brow quietly. a few seconds passed, then a whole minute. by the time she decided to assist him, he had been passed out for two minutes.

not counting the minutes or seconds he had been left alone.

taking out a pen, she would bend down to his level and proceed to prod him once with it. just a gentle prick on the upper arm. his flesh was not rigid, so he was not dead. "wake up" she cooed to him gently, softly. almost motherly. should he move, she would patiently reel backward to allow him space to breathe. unaware something was watching them.

River groans when something stirs him. The sharp prod of something pushing on his shoulder. The mild pain is just enough for him to come to, and he groggily wakes up to a very, very beautiful woman kneeling over him. He blushes intensely, mostly because this is not the ideal situation for him to be in if he had any shot at charming a woman. [break][break]

He sits up abruptly, gasping in pain at the sudden movement. He definitely had a goose-egg on the top of his head. [break][break]

A hand clasps to his forehead as he groans, squeezing his eyes shut tight. Teeth grind together as he focuses on getting past the ache in his head that makes him nauseous, and he instead takes a slow and deliberate look around.[break][break]

"What happened? Where did you come from?"

he had questions. of course, he did. the young man would sit up, staring around them. Sidonie took the time to raise herself to her feet. shameful. if he was dead, she could have dissected him. learned the cause of their predicament so easily. psychological? mental? she had theories, though. the boy had been at the mercy of some lackadaisical Pokemon haunting these woods. people did not run into trees without cause. his head was slightly swollen, related to the impact.

even she believed someone was not that stupid.

"I walked here" she began, averting her eyes to stare at the darkened path. where once was light... now it remained closed off. the moss had gone, oddly, dim. "and happened upon you. what is the last thing you recall?" she had, of course, noticed the change in the air. it seemed to suffocate, and the light like stated had gone. it was important never to panic. merely because the source would be joyful. she was not going to be a plaything.

nevertheless, she did not believe they were trapped. whatever caused the lull would be temporary. she would personally see to it.

River barely listens to what she's saying because, frankly, he doesn't care. He had been on his way home, or something, or doing something. He can't remember, everything is so fuzzy and confusing. Why did his head hurt?[break][break]

"Where am I? What the f--"[break][break]

He brings his hand down from his head, his face riddled with confusion and annoyance as he pushes past the woman to stare off into the dark. He's pretty sure he saw something moving, or saw lights flashing and blinking. But as soon as he gives it further thought, the forest is silent and dark all over again.[break][break]

"What did you say? I remember leaving a party and going for a walk."[break][break]

Probably a lie or a half truth. River isn't even convinced himself that he knows what he remembers. He's more than likely stoned and confused and battling a minor concussion.
