loyalty and trust are two things vital in any organization, and especially in an organization such as rocket, where betrayal runs rampant; or at least it used to. fear silences betrayal. it silences those who dare oppose him, who dare doubt him.[break][break]

fear is what drives rocket forward.[break][break]

still, fear has limitations. fear cannot be instilled into someone who's not afraid; someone who has nothing left to lose. silas is both of those.[break][break]

"why are you here?" his voice manages to boom despite the crowd that surrounds them. he addresses one of his underboss, a familiar face, leia. like fish in an unforgiving tide they navigate their way through, breaking free at the end.[break][break]

fish turn to stone, they both stop before a turn.[break][break]

[attr="class","lmb"]There are many who wish to be in power. Why would you need it when there's power right in your arms. This is not the case of such tomfoolery. Her back was against the cool metal wall of the build. Her sunglasses keeping the rays at bay from her poor eye sight. Leia kept her eyes out for a paticular figure. A spark in her eyes lit up as she saw the figure not too far away from her. And once he came close, she immediately pushed his questions aside.

"Boss ~" a purr emits from the back of her throat. Leia wrapped her arms around his and rubbed her head affectionately against him. "So good looking as usual, what are you up to outside of the arena?" She looked up at him with a smile. "Have you come to play with me after so long?"

Leia felt playful, and when doesn't she feel like that? The girl looked about her before pulling away from his arm. It needed to be casual. "Actually sir, I only went ahead to scout, there's no harm on what I am doing is there?"

The woman moves herself away from Silas to stretch her arms, her eyes underneath her sunglasses stare straight at him.

physical affection makes him uncomfortable, but he hides it well under his visage. discomfort morphs into irritation as she rubs her head against his chest. "get off, mint." one more tug and he slips free. [break][break]

his jaw clenches but he knows he can't do anything. not here. "stop it." judgement restrains his voice. "that's not what i meant." [break][break]

she's trouble, and yet, he allows her to be. his eyes undress her, noticing any subtleties that may be present in her features. "why are you here, mint? in hoenn. with me." loyalty flickers and fades, so he needs to be sure. [break][break]

one glance around allows them a moment to themselves. "no bullshit."

[attr="class","lmb"]He was always straight to the point. Confrontational. Always demanding answers to the questions he possibly knew already. Leia could only smile before her eyes look sharply at him. With a sigh, the woman threw her hands up in the air in defeat.

"You caught me red handed, sounds like I won't be able to have my fun," there is nothing that can surpass him is there? "I came here ahead of schedule, not to cause any harm."

Anything else? What else should she confess to the man when there was nothing? "You hurt my feelings, after showing so much support, you'd think I would betray you? After you dethroned your father, I made sure no one would come and dethrone you so easily, not like they had a chance against me of course."

She turn her back towards him before walking a few paces forward. "Aren't you doing the same thing as I? Try to keep up sir."

overthrowing his father was a decision many saw coming, but maybe it was the remnants of family that clouded his father's judgement. the act was easier than the decision. but still, leia played a big part in keeping him safe, and he knew that.[break][break]

her step forward ushers him to follow, which he obliges. "betrayal is second nature to our kind. my father didn't think i'd betray him, too." his voice is void of any sympathy. it needed to be done. "i can't have any doubts, not when we're this close to hoenn."[break][break]

"You know as well as I that I would never betray you," she looks at Silas at the corner of her eyes, head in a tilt as she saw him. Her eyes blazing with a hint of malice. Her voice did not falter when she spoke. "To be front with you, I would never betray you. Remember the shackles. They're always there."

Her voice gave no emotion, it was to the point as he always needed. Her eyes in front of her once more as she continue on her walk. "In lighter news, I say Hoenn is really nice. The pokemon are plenty and I can't wait to find new people to have for my toys."

"What are you here for or than spreading chaos?"

there's no hesitation in her words, but that's what he expected from her; anything else wouldn't compliment her. trust is a luxury, and it's one he knows he will never fully be able to give. there's no one in the world he trusts; no one who deserves his trust. so he keeps them at an arm's-length because that's where they belong. that's where he's most safe.[break][break]

"okay."[break][break]

tension dissipates for the moment as the subject switches onto hoenn. "it is." it's more home than kanto ever was and ever will be. it's also all he's willing to say on the matter. thankfully, she asks another question.[break][break]

he ponders for a moment. "to conquer it." it's a simple, but truthful answer. "it's been at peace for far too long; it doesn't deserve that luxury. i'll do to it what i did to kanto."[break][break]

the crowd that seemed so present from earlier fades away with the tension, and what's left is the two of them and another: an oncoming civilian. silas doesn't move. their shoulders clash and profanities spew. they take another step forward but he knows to use it as an opportunity. he turns to mint.[break][break]

"are you going to let him walk away?"

[attr="class","lmb"]She can't dirty her hands just yet. Everything was starting and to have a reign over Hoenn is more than enough for Leia to have her heart racing at an abnormal speed once more. Kanto was delicious to devour, and she could only assume that Hoenn would be a even heartier meal.

As the crowd becomes smaller and smaller, the more the surroundings become more desolate. Lonely buildings, a civilian and then them. Was she going to let him walk away after such an unfortunate turn of event that is now? Was this a test?

"Oh, I love you so much Silas," she chuckles. Leia threw out two of her pokeballs, in a beam of light her Noivern let out a mighty cry and the other was her Metang. The two pokemon surround the man, and Leia walk over happily. Hand behind her back as she spoke to him.

"Excuse me ~" she calls out happily. "I have a few questions for you, sorry if you're in a hurry." Her voice is chipper, banishing all seriousness in her voice. She wraps her arms the man. "Do you ever think about how your dreams will come true, mister?"

She licks her lips lightly as her eyes never left him. "I'll tell you mine, it's a wonderful time, come, come, please try not to struggle okay?" Before he could properly push her roughly aside, she gave a click of her tongue and her Noivern took the man by the shoulders and pull him to the air.

"Oh wow mister! You're so high up!" She giggles as her head is tilt up to see her Noivern go higher and higher. She turns to Silas, her smile never leaving her lips. She was going to start her fun now, right?

"Where should I land him, Si - las ~"

then, comes the shift. it's subtle but he knows, he feels it emanating from his rocket underboss. it's pleasure to watch her work; she's sadistic, and yet, she masks it under a carefully placed veil. her true intentions are a mystery, and that's what makes her so captivating. at the same time, it makes her dangerous.[break][break]

if they weren't alone before they definitely are now. her noivern swoops in and picks the man up by his shoulders, pulling him up into the air. the man screams and shouts, helplessly flailing his arms and legs to no avail.[break][break]

"we have to be courteous; we are guests to the region, after all." he steps forward until he's directly underneath the noivern. his eyes peer up and somehow, the glaring sun doesn't affect him. "the hospital is fine."

[attr="class","lmb"]"Not the police?" she pouts a bit, unimpressed by his answer. Clearly a dead body right in front of the station would have work a little better. It would send a message across that there are troublemakers loose in Hoenn. "I guess," in a huff the woman cross her arms over her chest. Looking up at the victim, she playfully blows a kiss. "I'll see you on the news handsome, you'll be quite famous before being forgotten."

Without a moment's hesitation, Leia wraps her arms around Silas' arm and smiles to him. "Shall we go somewhere high, or stay on level to warn them? Either way, I think today, after all of this, we should go drink and maybe have a little fun somewhere." A playful wink once more before she releases his arm.

"Baby ~" she calls out to her Noivern who was waiting for the next order. "Please go to the hospital, our guest might need our help." The man's cries did not go unnotice, but who would pay attention in this big city?

the police; or the league, as they refer to themselves, won't know what's coming. "we're not here to make a statement yet. it's not the time. but, a little fun won't hurt anyone." the noivern's large shadow casts down upon the stone pavements, along with the man's shadow; and sweat. nothing teaches respect like murder. without sparring the man another look, silas has sentenced him to die; not because the man deserves to die, but because silas has power.[break][break]

and the region will soon know it.[break][break]

leia wraps herself around his arm and for once, he does nothing simply because he knows her. she feeds off of denial and will only use it against him. "just drop him off. we have other things to tend to."[break][break]

[attr="class","lmb"]She would have preferred a hotel than a bar, they would have more privacy then. Signaling to the Noivern, the pokemon leaves immediately, the cry of the victim just an echo now. Leia smiles at the thought of sharing drinks with her boss. "Actually, I do know a place, just take my lead alright?" She paves the way for the two of them, through a relatively clean alley and towards a door where it has seen better days.

"I actually came upon this, maybe a few hours ago? Maybe more," she knocks on the door three times before the door was opened. Inside was a more welcoming space. A little dark for her taste, but none of the staff would take a whiff of what business goes about.

"Oh, have as many drinks as you want, there are places to rest in the back if you know what I mean," from there she let's go of his arm, walking over to the bar. "It's me from earlier, I hope you have learned your lessons." The bartender's face was a little damaged, a stitch ran across their nose.

"This is my very wonderful, and handsome special person, treat him kindly ~" her voice playful, her eyes like daggers underneath the sunglasses.

privacy has always been an issue; even in hoenn that issue persists, though not as greatly, which is evident by the fact that he's still capable to walk around in public with a simple hoodie, should he so wish. being a notorious figure has its perks, but like most things, it also has its cons. he, too, would have preferred a hotel over a bar.[break][break]

maybe in a different life.[break][break]

for once, he lets her lead. "you've been busy." the bar is simple, nothing fancy, and yet it feels oddly nostalgic. his eyes drift to the wooden tables, the green-painted walls by the pool table, and finally at the bartender. it's then that he realizes that he's been here before; just in a different life.[break][break]

"surprise me, hotshot."[break][break]

carl. what a typical name for a bartender. he doubts he'd be recognized, considering how long it has been and how much he's changed. still, he's cautious not to give too much away. his eyes shift back to leia.[break][break]

"what else have you been doing, mint?"
