As the haunted air of the lighthouse lifted, One shook himself off, casting off the terrible feeling of dread that had permeated the air. Not those humans, but they seemed happy with each other, so he deigned to ignore it. Instead, he stompted over to the two smaller ones, checking even the Luxio over. Perhaps he respected another zapper like himself? [break][break]

"We'll go with you're a cool guy then." Rex concluded quickly, closing off any way he could possible mess this up when...a thought hit, and this sounded like a clever thing! [break][break]

He face practically glowed in his own self-satisfied glory, "So if you're playing a different role, why don't I jump on that bandwagon?" Combing back his own hair with a scoff, he grinned, "Why don't I buy you a drink some time?" Never thought he'd be the chaser, but come on, he was born to be the hunter. [break][break]

He could only hope his meager pocket change could buy more than cheap beer...

When Baby opens her eyes, she finds a nosy Aerodactyl in her face. She meows or growls or makes some sort of noise in protest, showing him her claws. She'd had enough of Pokemon invading her personal space. She had hours upon hours of self-care to take care of.[break][break]

Though.. part of her certainly does like that attention.[break][break]

River, too, apparently. The boy has turned around to face Rex, a coy grin reciprocating his partner's attempts to flirt. River had never been particularly hard to please - he was a flirt and preferred the company of anyone who shared common interest.[break][break]

The fact that Rex was making this easy for him was just a bonus, and more incentive for him to encourage it.[break][break]

"Some time? Why not right now? Unless you have some pretty girl to get to and you're playing with her and me."[break][break]

He winks because it's definitely something he would do in his spare time. River wasn't the faithful type. He'd hop from one person to the next if things got stale - and they usually did.

Perhaps the prehistoric monster was the perfect partner for Rex. Big, dopey, and mean enough to make that look like a slight dimness. Certainly, it was frightening, but stumbled backwards as the Luxio showed her claws. Immediately after, he sneered and started preening, only just managing to recover from his previous fright. [break][break]

Rex scoffed at River's words, shaking his head, but not out of chivalry or crap like that. "If only I was that lucky. One pretty face one day, then something new the other? Sounds like a dream." Well, honesty was a virtue, wasn't it? [break][break]

"Have to warn you, though, don't exactly got enough money to make it a "special night", but if you want to drink, I got you."

It's both a relief and a concern that Rex admits he has no other objects of affection. It either meant the man was easygoing and willing to fool around with no strings, or he'd wrap River up in strings and he'd have to be the heartbreaker once again to cut them off of him.[break][break]

And yet, River wastes no time deciding to pursue this adventure regardless of the Schrodinger's strings attached. [break][break]

"It'll be special enough, don't worry."[break][break]

Cheap beer was his go-to, anyway. If he even decided to drink. He wasn't exactly well-off income-wise, so he made do with whatever he could. And right now, he was making do with a hidden gem in a lighthouse.

Rex wasn't much to think much, and he sure as hell wasn't thinking right now. Fun in the night. It was no different than accepting a cigarette just to whine about the taste, drinking himself under the table, or deciding today was the day he was going to swim and sunbathe. It was fun, all of it, so he wasn't going to stop. [break][break]
