The smog had shocked the queen. She was ill prepared for its appearance, and lashed out in a panic. Heaving her lower body, she swung around in a massive arc. Sama could not possibly dodge, the queen's lower body smashing against her. It spared the queen from Sama's attack, and Sama was thrown to the side like a sack of old potatoes. The queen heaved in the smoke as she panicked though, coughing as her minions dozed off. She fought it for as long as she could, barely staying conscious against the onslaught.
Gavin's threat shocked Oscar. Not so much his words, but the look in his eyes. They pierced his very soul, it was a glare that should have made Oscar's panic spike. Instead it sobered him, bringing his expression to a steely calm. This was indeed on his shoulders, and like a good soldier he had to deal with the consequences of his thoughtlessness. The pounding on the door slowed, and then eventually ceased. Oscar took a deep breath, it was time to see what had transpired. He opened the door.
A blast of smog smashed into his face. His mask filtered a good deal, but what did break through caused Oscar to cough harshly. "Holy shit what the fuck happened?" As soon as Oscar felt stable he began to walk through. The smog was thick but it wasn't unbearable, he had trouble seeing at first but his eyes adjusted as he moved forward. The mask was a big help, it wasn't perfect but without it he would have been choking. He soon saw shapes not too far from him, and he ran forward hoping to find Sama.
He indeed found her, crumpled on her side. Knocked out cold. Nearby stood the queen, no longer flying but resting upon her hive shaped body. It would seem that the smog was too much for her, as she soon fell over. Oscar returned Sama to her ball and went to examine the vespiquen. Much to his relief, the vespiquen was unharmed physically. However, he noticed a series of purple veins flowing up and down her body. She had been poisoned.
Oscar took in a deep breath and held it within his cheeks. He then unzipped his suit, allowing a cloud of smog to enter his mask and burn his eyes. He struggled through the discomfort and pulled an antidote from his belt. Zipping his suit back up, he placed the antidote on the vespiquen and pressed the trigger. A syringe poked into the poisoned pokemon, and after a short amount of time the veins faded. Oscar stood up and threw the empty antidote aside. He opened his mouth to speak, but took in the cloud that had infiltrated his mask and started to hack. He pointed toward the farmhouse, wher ethe smog was weaker.
After making it to the farmhouse, he regained his composure while waiting for Gavin. Whenever he would approach, Oscar would report, "She's fine. She was poisoned but I cleared it. Nothing even scratched her, the bitch must have been tough." Oscar rolled his neck, "We should really gather this honey before the farmer returns, but uh before we do." Oscar gulped, he wasn't sure how this would play out but wanted to make his feelings clear. "I recognize that I am a fair petty criminal, but there is more to Rocket than petty crime. I wish to understand more of how Rocket works, what it takes for it to survive. I know the first step is to become a better trainer, and when I am ready I hope you will teach me what you know." Oscar gave Gavin a nod of respect before beginning the task of gathering honey.
