Their little scavenging excursion was about to be profitable in ways Cap hadn't yet imagined. The trio trundled along between buildings and half-wild parking lots. Nemesis carried an armful of reclaimed lumber and pieces of broken concrete that could pass for paving stones with a little work. Leander carried one very-Riolu-sized log, absolutely beside himself with delight. As they walked up to another pile of dilapidated might-have-once-been-a-house, Cap spied a pile of wood that would serve his purposes nicely. He took hold of one particular piece and shoved.

Suddenly, a dark shadow slithered out from between the wooden slats, shifting across the concrete. Cap yelped and scrambled backwards. Leander, though, was all-too-happy to lend a hand. He dropped his burden and lowered into a fighting stance. The shadow—now obviously a Salandit—stood and opened its mouth, hissing. Leander didn't give it a second chance. He Feinted left before swinging with his right paw, taking advantage of his smaller size to line up just right with the wild Pokemon's small hitbox. He caught the Salandit right in the jaw, sending the little lizard flying. Luckily, Cap had already mostly recovered. He dug through his pockets and pulled out a spare Pokeball. Not necessarily useful in the garden, but hey beggars can't be choosers!
