HELLO, EVERYONE! We're entering our 7th Arc on Hoenn! The setting and timeline will be updated to reflect this. Stay tuned as we explore the year of the dragon (or draconids?), while the site narrative brings Hoenn closer and closer to unparalleled dangers.

JCINK OR PROBOARDS? We're currently deliberating upon this potential move to the Jcink platform. Jcink has several tools that allow for automation of staffwork. hoenn is inspired by, but not associated with nintendo's pokemon franchise.

skin is created by pharaoh leap with graphical help from red. we would like to thank leap and meulk for their additional templates (staff temp, custom pc).

next, garden/swarm spawn, ranger raid, black market, pkmn contest post templates were coded by ulla.

teal has created the wild spawn, endeavour list, league card, exhibits. he and spiral also created the gachapon script, while the former created the gachapon template.

loreq has assisted us with many quality of life changes on site involving coding fixes, plugins and more.

lav has coded in UI accessibility features on Hoenn (cogwheel icon on the navigational sidebar).

characters belong to the members who write them, and all posts and templates on site are credited to their respective authors and artists. we claim nothing that is not ours. thank you for stopping by.

SYNOPSIS: the hoenn league has successfully diverted the 99943 meteno meteroid into an alternate universe. consequently, the region has experienced a violent planeshifting, a bombardment of terastal crystals, and now sports various rifts to realms in the ultra wilds. as megalopolan activity begins to rise, trainers who embark in expeditions to these realms uncover secrets behind the condition of the multiverse.
meanwhile, team rocket and the league amass resources to aid in their conflict against each other. the crime syndicate is poised to take more of the region territorially, while the league ponders a direct offense. legendary pokemon roam the region as potential benefactors or ruinous omens, leaving many to ponder how the hoenn region will ultimately be responsible for the end of all worlds.

after the last incident with her chandelure chasing off random pokemon into the darkness - a characteristic she had never observed before - persephone decided to place the pokemon on functional probation and try a different source of light for the caves.

first she tried the charmander, but he proved even more unreliable than the chandelure, wandering off on a whim and nearly falling over into every single puddle, panicking, running back, a bobbing flame in the darkness.

the manectric was a little better than that, but barely. the crackling of electricity around his paws was unnerving in the near-suffocating silence, and persephone found herself eyeing him warily. much like her other two pokemon, cerza was prone to give chase to objects of his interest. the difference was that he was quicker about getting back to her, and scarcely bothered to bring anything live back to her anyway.

in short? should have brought a flashlight.

to her right the cliff face gave way to the rushing waters below; the stream far below her, and the black water impenetrable by her pokemon's light.

in the gloom, she would have missed it if the manectric hadn't alerted her to a wild pokemon's presence. nose sticking out over the edge in a vehement odor sleuth, shackles raised and teeth bared.

she follows his gaze, sighing, and peers over the edge into the water's depths to catch sight of the object of the mancetric's interest; a pink eel-shape twisted around in the rapids. usually, it would be perhaps difficult to identify, but persephone had seen the undeniable shape, colour and movement of a gorebyss multiple times before.

"no," she told the manectric firmly, and turned back to her tools. the electric pokemon heaved a reluctant sigh and sat, while the gorebyss passed them by.

the minutes ticked by into hours, not that time had any real bearing in a place like meteor falls. the manectric had long since fallen asleep, spent of its nervous energy, or it would have noticed the intrusion sooner.

beady red eyes watched perse and her pokemon for an inordinately long time, until it barreled forward, hitting the manectric with a taunt. yowling, the pokemon leapt to its paws to retaliate with a thunder succeeded by a reckless wild charge, neither of which seemed to hit the fraxure in any meaningful way given their respective typings.

the fraxure must have thought it all a game, because he barrelled forward, repeating his name and knocking the manectric to the ground with no attack in particular - just its own two tusks.

persephone watched the pair tussle around with a shock that quickly turned to amusement. it was cute. she tossed an empty pokeball at the fraxure while it was distracted without thinking about it too deeply.
