Maverick found himself traveling once again. This time, he decided not to take the train or other means of travel that was considered traditional. Instead, Maverick decided to travel by air. More specifically, by dragon. It took several hours to somewhat master this. Maverick has never done this before and I clearly shows. Even now as the large dragon soared through the air, Maverick held on for dear life. “Slow down Lagertha,” the man hollered as he held a death grip around the salamence neck, white knuckles and all, “You’re going to make me sick. Please. Let’s land. I can’t take it anymore.” The large blue scaly creature’s orbs flickered back, a sinister smirk tugged the edges of her lips. If her new trainer wanted a ride, she will give him a ride of a life time.

Dipping her left wing and shifting her body to face the earth, the salamence dive bombed towards the route 112. The man closed his eyes, feeling as though the force of the air rushing past him was about to rip his skin off. The ground inched closer and closer in the matter of minutes. “Fuck,” the man cursed under his breath as he felt his stomach turn from the force, “Please put me down.” With that comment, the trainer got what he wanted. Just a few feet from the ground, the salamence spin upside down sending the trainer off her back. Last minute, she opened her wings as soon as she managed to get the trainer to let go and was up in the air once more with one simple flap of her wings to redirect her motion.

Maverick wasn’t so lucky. He didn’t have wings to catch himself. He slammed into the earth with a hard thud, rolling side over side until he came to a stop just a few feet before a woman. At first, the scarred male didn’t move. It was only after a minute or two he groaned, flipping over to lay on his back as his chest rose and fell with deep breaths. “Well… that was unpleasant.” In the distance, you could see the salamence almost snicker in her eyes. Soaring over her trainer before lifting into the sky. Warm colored orbs shifted to the female, a hint of a grin spread across his expression. “Oh… hey,” the man mumbled in a muffled pain filled greeting, feeling as though he was hit by a ton of bricks, “just thought I would drop by.” He tried to let a light chuckle escape him, but the pain was too much and ended up all groans. “Is this route 112?”

Before Maverick come to hoenn, his specialty was only dark type pokemon and pokemon with dark duel type. And being strictly dark, his experiment with others types other than battling them was minimal at best. And with there only being one dark and dragon type, his over all experience with dragons were low as well. And it clearly showed as his newly traded salamence threw him to the ground, taking off to the sky once more. He groaned for a moment, pain rippled through his back though surpassing nothing felt broken. His warm digits fell upon the marshtomp before they fell on the woman, slowly getting to his feet and brushing his cloths off from any dirt that might have stuck to them. “Oh,” Maverick started as he tried to stretch it out, though clenched when something sent shock waves of pain through his body, “Yeah. I’m alright.”

It took a moment for him to collect himself, shifting and moving about a little to loosen his achey body. His sudden appearance didn’t just startled the woman and her company. A ponyta apparently was shaking up too at it charged at them. However, the woman was quick to react and her water type was swift to handle it. A half grin spread along his lips as he straighten himself out, reaching into his pocket to grab the salamence ball. The salamence soared through the sky just a few feet from their heads, sending any tree branches in the area in a frenzy dance. The sudden gust of wind sent a her across into the sky, fleeing. She circled around with a simply tilt of her wing. Slowly herself down before landing just behind Maverick gracefully, large wings folding in close to her body as she stared at him. Maverick faced her, sighing. “You know you could have killed me,” the man mumbled to her as he tried to reach out to touch her snout, the dragon snorted in retort and pulled away from his advance, “And you scared this person and a few wild pokemon too.” The salamence turned her head away from him, eyes closed utter denial. The man huffed. “Dragons.”

Facing the woman once more, he bowed slight at the waist. “I am sorry if we startled you. I just recently got Lagertha and thought it would be nice to travel by air instead of land. Probably wasn’t the best idea with a new dragon.” Mav chuckled lightly, though he stopped with a cough as pain rippled through him again. Maybe he should head to the hospital after his hunt, he might just have broke something internally. “Nice catch by the way,” he motioned to the caught wild pokmeon, “Been looking for one myself.” His warm gaze flickered from her to where he was, taking in the scenery before his attention was back on her. “The name is Maverick.” Though like most others, he figured she didn't really care. "Have you been here before?"

But before the woman could answer his comment, a wild pangoro barged in angry as all hell. Maverick’s eyes widened as he stepped back, unsure of really what to do at this point. The wild pokemon roared at them, wanting to fight. However, the salamece didn’t find it amusing. The dragon raced back, baring her teeth. And before the wild pokemon could attack, the dragon sent a stream of fire towards it. The flamethrower hit, setting the poor wild pokemon angry. “Shit,’ the man cured, backing up as the two began to fight, “Chill out! You might set everything on fire!” She didn’t listen.

Once the dragon ran out of hot breath, the pangoro charged forward to use what looked like hammer arm. The salamence lifted off the ground, easily dodging the wild pokemon. She circled in the air above, the wild pokemon watching and swinging its arms to try and get at her. Taking in another deep breath, the salamece let loose another flamethrower. The pangoro hollered in pain, flailing about as its fur started to burn. Wanting them to stop before things get worse, Maverick reached into his pocket and pulled out the common two tone ball.

With the flick of the wrist, the hand launched the ball as hard as he could at the wild pokemon. And to his surprise, he hit his mark. The ball sucked the flaming creature in and locked close, falling to the earth with a soft thud. Warm eyes shifted to the salamence as she roared, still fired up. Snatching her ball, he recalled her. With both creature’s secured in a ball for now, the man’s eyes searched for the woman to see if she fled the sense. Not surpassing, she must have. A lump on his throat formed, trying to swallowed it down as he waited to see if the capture was a success. He would be in a world of trouble if it didn’t. Fingers crossed.
