The job was perfect for Simón—an identity Valerio crafted himself to take on menial jobs for a hefty amount of cash. No feelings nor attachments. Those were his rules with this specifically-crafted identity.

Simón reached the junkyard of Petalburg City with intentions on taking up the ‘destroy car’ challenge. For all he knew, many had already succeeded with crushing the car within the time limit so he had no doubts of doing it too.

He just hoped his partner for this would be competitive as well.

So apparently the last time Ro almost failed to smash the car that he had decided to take his stress out on. Lars figured it was time for a ‘redemption arc’ so to speak.

This time, though, he had decided to show up dressed down and wearing a pair of shades. Even he was also mad for a reason: his vanilla leaves shipment for his pipe hadn’t come in yet and he was fucking pissed for that.

I don’t like cigarettes but what other fucking choice do I have… he thought crossly as he stuck the lit cigarette into the side of his mouth before taking a puff and sighing.

There was a trail of smoke as he popped the Heavy Ball forward and watched as his Metagross landed in a flash of red light.

“You deserve a redemption arc. Go get that damned car, and this time, make sure you hit where the hell it matters,” he said in a cross manner, folding his arms across his chest and watching as the Metagross took aim and unleashed a powerful Meteor Mash attack on the front door of the car they were going to be wrecking today.

Simón’s grumpig—who had no nickname—emerged back from the sky with a hard blow of BOUNCE that landed on the metagross’s back. “Oof.”

Of course, the hog was shocked, he did not know that Simón and he would be accompanied. The impact of the pig landing unto the metal mon’s back hurt it too. “Heh. Not intended.”

Simón raised his hands to say he’s not guilty but inside his mind he was laughing with his grumpig.

Of course, Ro was not expecting to blow something out of the car door by surprise when a shadow suddenly shot down from the direction of the crashed vehicle.

The Metagross let out a confused grating noise, before feeling something literally smack him on his back… his head, whatever other part of the body one would call that.

Said confused grating noise became one of annoyance before the Metagross then used Telekinesis to lift the offender off his back/head area to reveal that it was a Grumpig. Well, then.

“Oi, who owns this Grumpig?!” he barked, before the Metagross suddenly got an idea and attempted to smash the Grumpig instead into the car!

Nobody else touches the Metagross’s back, what touches yours?!

The silver beast was pissy, too.

“Yo, that’s not cool.” Simón shouted to the man with glasses upon the metagross’s aggressive behavior. The grumpig stood after the throw but its eyes were now glaring at its opponent. With much agitation, it used TEETER DANCE to confuse its target and whacked the metagross towards the car with PSYSHOCK.

“No—no! Grumpig! The target’s the car! Not the claw crane thingy!”

“He’s pissed, cut him some slack!” he hollered back as he turned his attention back to where the silver Metagross was now… teetering around in confusion.

Well, shit.

“Make your pig stop confusing my Metagross!” he shouted a few moments later as the hulking silver beast began to move off-kilter, looking rather punch-drunk because of the earlier Teeter Dance attempt (was it done mid-air? If it was, props to that).

“Stop dawdling around and smash the danged car! Not the bouncing car decoration!” he almost yelled at the Metagross. While it hadn’t moved much from the Psyshock attack due to its weight, one of its four ‘legs’ began to flail wildly around, attempting to catch the Grumpig in another Meteor Mash attempt to send it careening towards the car’s windshield.

What the hell was going on with their Pokémon?! Were they fighting each other instead of smashing the car up?!

“And how am I supposed to do that?” Simòn was frustrated. Clearly this was not part of the challenge. But any attempt to reason with the grumpig was futile and it seemed like the other party was in a similar situation.

The albino metagross sent grumpig towards the windshield but not without any retaliation. Standing from its position, it leaped to towards the air and BOUNCED once more, its impact wrecking much of the car. This was the grumpig’s strategy, at least with this move, it was in control.

“I’m telling you, whoever you are. You do not mess with an angry grumpig.”

So the little bouncing car decoration wanted to play that way, huh?

He followed the trajectory direction of the Grumpig as it threw itself skyward once again. “Telekinesis, and step on it!” he continued, watching as the Metagross threw up the same strange force as it had earlier, unintentionally lifting the now-wrecked remains of the car.

“The same can be said for a Metagross, you know,” he said to the other man, before getting an idea. “Magnet Rise, meet it up in the air! After that, use Psychic and swat it back when it gets too close!”

Another grunting noise came from the Metagross in assent before it made itself levitate with magnetic forces and rose up holding both itself and the totaled car wreckage aloft. A few moments later, a blast of rainbow-colored energy was sent flying.

Care to guess where that attack was headed?

Right then and there the Metagross severed the Telekinesis link and sent the car’s totaled wreckage hurtling down to the ground.

Simón’s grumpig would be laughing if it this guy thought its pokémon was the only one with an affinity to psychic types. Too bad, the hog too is a psychic. Simón stepped out closer to where the two pokémons were now battling and attempted to support his pokémon.

“Use CONFUSE RAY at the metal scraps—oof, no, I mean the metagross and land power up your landing with PSYSHOCK!” Simón warned, hints of Galarian accent being more noticeable with his every shout. He knew the grumpig to be extremely focused and persistent so he had much confidence he could get through with the claw crane’s attacks.

As for the its owner, Simón was just glad and excited he found someone closer to a rival in an unexpected circumstance.

Due to him being so pissed off, he had completely forgotten that Grumpig was a Psychic-type.

Whoops.

That was fucking stupid.

Anyway, the rainbow-colored ball of energy lanced by the Grumpig harmlessly.

“Drop the car, now! Go after the bouncing spring with a Bullet Punch attack!” he called out a few moments later, hoping the Metagross was still pissed off and ready to swat the damned thing out of the air.

The wreckage of the car smashed down onto the ground with a loud shuddering noise as the Metagross flew upward, zipping forward with Agility and rearing back to strike the Psychic-type with a series of Bullet Punch attacks.

The car lay far below, completely forgotten. The true battle was now being waged up in the air between two very pissed-off Pokémon; one Grumpig and one Metagross.
