[attr="class","witness"]Francie noticed the woman as soon as she peeked in. With much gusto, she rushed over and took the woman by the wrist.

"Yes yes welcome! Right this way, here you go. Sign here, and here, if you understand the rules."

Once she pointed out each spot, she made her way toward the starting point of the maze and gave Kaida a giant grin.

"Hello Kaida! I'm pleased to meet you! My name is Francie, and I'm the gym leader here! Your objective is to get through the maze, with me following, while not using any damaging type moves. Beware, as there are traps as well as short cuts within the maze!"

Francie waved toward the starting line.

"Once we cross the line, there's no going back, unless you're willing to forfeit! Are you ready?"

Kaida Adachi - begin rolling!

Francie followed behind Kaida and her cute ekans. Poison types were cute to Francie. Not as cute as rock types, but there was something to be said about koffing. That cute little dooder just hovering in the air, being super cute all the time without anybody telling it to be!!

The duo before her were working wonderfully as a team, Francie enjoyed seeing this sort of partnership the most. A trainer and their pokemon. In the raw. Surviving. It was great!

Surviving was a bit of a stretch, but, eh.

Kaida Adachi - roll total 45/200

[attr="class","witness"]When the poor little snake got a face full of confetti, Francie had to throw up two hands over her face to try and stop herself from laughing. The poor little thing! Just got sprayed, right in the face. It was incredibly tragic and made Francie bite her lip in an attempt to try and stop herself from laughing. It worked, thankfully, and once she calmed down they were on the move yet again.

The smell of an ekans was impressive, but she had three lycanrocs herself who she often sent out into the maze to play and cover up the scents with their musk. Each twist and turn that they made, they were sure to go to all the dead ends and then make their way back to Francie before getting treats.

Scents, they could be very deceptive.

But once again, Francie kept herself quite and let the woman concentrate. If only because she didn't seem like she wanted to talk. Francie didn't want to say anything and distract her, either.

As they turned down that way, a very large and clear space appeared, and Francie skipped forward a bit to pick up a rock. She threw it, and from the ground jutted up a wall that blocked the rock, a ways down.

"So! Here we have your first obstacle, fun stuff." Francie nodded matter-o-factly with her hands crossed like she was a big boss! "Um, basically, it's motion sensor. So, be careful where you step! The walls will raise quick, and they'll hurt you bad if you get too close."

Thank goodness the woman signed a waiver in the beginning.

Kaida Adachi - roll total 68/200

[attr="class","witness"]"Wha-- me? Well thank you."

Francie's voice was low, like a whisper, before she finally shut herself up and followed in their footsteps. She walked a bit behind them, knowing the route of this particular room rather well. It was, after all, a maze she had designed and memorized.

But she couldn't work her smart device... ah, the complications of being Francie.

Once they made it to the end of the cleared room, Francie clapped her hands in excitement, to congratulate them.

"You two work so well together! It's absolutely amazing."

With a hop and a skip, she got close to them, she took Kaida's hand as the floor suddenly started to lower. What was once the floor was quickly a ceiling, closing and leaving them in a pitch black underground tunnel beneath the previous gym floor.

"Welcome to the half way point, miss Kaida and Ormr! Now, you're allowed to use anything on your person, including your current pokemon and a flashlight or match to illuminate your path. If you have none of these items, try and find a different way through the darkness."

[attr="class","witness"]"No worries, I'm right here." She encouraged, following behind Kaida.

Francie was getting excited, she always did in the pitch dark tunnels. They smelled like fresh earth, like the Jagged Pass, or the Fiery Path... without the lava, obviously. They reminded the blonde of her times in Lumiose City, however short, helping with tunnels and taking on gym challenges there!

As Kaida held her hand, Francie gripped it back. There was an indication in the way Francie squeezed Kaida's hand that said they were almost done, because they were. It was a brilliant team before her and, if nothing popped out out of the ground around them, then this would end in a brilliant success.

She might have said a silent prayer, for Kaida's sake, and Ormr. What a brilliant team these two had been!

Kaida Adachi - roll total 188

[attr="class","witness"]As they came to a dead end, Francie released Kaida's hand at the same time that the floor began to rise and the ceiling began to open.

"You made it! Great job and congratulations to the both of you!"

She's clapping with excitement as they raise into the off center of the battle area in the middle of the ground floor of the maze. Jogging over to a podium, she uses her retina to unlock the case holding the Stone Badges.

Turning toward Kaida, Francie holds the stone badge out between her index finger and thumb.

"Congratulations Kaida Adachi, you're a victor over my maze! You and your partner deserve this win, don't let anybody tell you otherwise!"
