Thea wasn't typically the type to actively search for and train Pokemon. Normally they came to her naturally by means outside of her control, or by necessity. [break][break]

But after hearing rumors that the Safari Zone was full of bizarre ghost-type baby dragons, she found herself eager to investigate. [break][break]

After all, she couldn't pass up an opportunity to reminisce about home. Chances were the Pokemon in question were Dreepy, and she wouldn't be opposed to a few more ghosts in her closet.

The first Pokemon to appear is a Scyther. It performs a grand display showcasing its incredible razor-sharp wings, but Thea is ultimately uninterested. And, given that she poses no threat, the Scyther flies off to find someone more promising to challenge.[break][break]

She picks her way deeper into the zone, occasionally lifting her dress should it get snagged on branches or bushes.

There's a great uproar of giggling, screeching voices. Thea pauses for a moment to watch the group of Chimchar take to the trees, flame sparking from their tails as they swing back and forth the branches. They seem otherwise preoccupied save for one who has noticed Thea.[break][break]

She does not linger, however, and moves on without them.

Thea hesitates, shoe crushing the grass underfoot, though it makes no sound. She exhales softly as the ghostly, impossibly tiny body of a Dreepy passes in front of her. It seems oblivious at first, too busy interacting with its fellow Dreepy to pay her any mind.[break][break]

But Thea is discreet in her approach, utilizing Eva's silent flight to sneak up on the target.[break][break]

Ultimately, the Dreepy's youth and lack of training results in its capture. Despite the numerous attempts to disable Eva's attacks, the giant Drifblim manages to overpower the young Pokemon with ease.[break][break]

A quick capture disperses the remaining Dreepy, though Thea has every intention of pursuing them, as well.[break][break]

The pokeball, once cold, is now warm. She squeezes it gently in her hand before setting it aside in her pack. In the process, she grabs a granola bar of some kind and opts to nibble at it.[break][break]

Her walk continues and she passes a Psyduck swimming swiftly against the current in a nearby stream. It seems to be thoroughly enjoying itself. She smiles a bit as she makes her way past.

Sobble are a tricky bunch, too shy to properly introduce themselves. It's because of this particular Sobble's timid nature that Thea passes it by. The Pokemon is virtually transparent in the water, and with no ripple in it as she passes, Thea is none the wiser.[break][break]

The moment she leaves, of course, the Sobble springs out and resumes whatever activity it partook in when not under the scrutiny of humans.

Two Tyrogue are deep in a fist-fight. There's a power struggle and Thea sticks around to observe. She takes notes, records a short video on her phone. There's likely something in the battle that she can use to educate her students.[break][break]

There's always more to learn, after all. And, as quickly as the scuffle begins, it ends in a truce. With neither being the victor, they eventually make up and pair off to explore together.
