he holds his pyukumuku forward like a weapon, not wanting to harm the client's combee with an actual attack. the soak it spews out acts as a makeshift hydro pump, but it doesn't help one bit.

"i just want honey, dammit!"

priam turns and runs away from a swarm of combee as they all chase after him after a failed attempt at harvesting honey. the pyukumuku gets tucked in his arm as he escapes the swarm. retreat is his only option for now if he wants the money.

"hey! you're fuckin' late!" he yells.

it is the beekeeping suit that makes it hard for him to identify the person he's running towards to. it was either the owner of the local beefarm or another hire. he knows he's fucked if it's the former, and so he prays for the latter.

if it wasn't for his shouting, she probably would have passed it off as an uncanny resemblance. iris stands her ground and readies herself to call out a command in case he doesn't stop running--priam had a tendency to get carried away.

priam doesn't stop. he keeps running towards her, pyukumuku on tow. the only thing stopping him from turning against them was the fact that he did not want to sabotage his own chance at the job.

"tryin' to calm these bees, that's what!" he answers back.

eventually, he reaches her. his foot skids against the ground as he swivels and turns to hide behind iris and her larvesta. his hands were on her shoulders, as if trying to bunker down against the upcoming attack.

"wait, you know me? shit! i recognize that voice!" he attempts to jog his memory, and then shifts his head to look at her features directly. "iris?"

there's disbelief in his voice when he utters her name. part if him questions the utter confidence he has with himself upon making the decision to decide it was her.

[attr="class","irisThread"]their little reunion is cut short by the sound of angry buzzing. iris finds herself unable to back up quickly with priam hiding behind her--a shot of annoyance and, perhaps, some amusement--and throws her larvesta towards the bees. "flame wheel!"

still mid-air, the larvesta begins to spin and coat itself in flame. it cuts straight through the swarm before reaching the ground, wisps of smoke drifting from its landing place. the combee scatter about, their formation broken as they try to avoid getting barbecued.

"i thought they told us to bring fire-types," she says, shooting an accusatory look at priam's pyukumuku.

"pyuku is fire, okay?!" he hides behind iris as her larvesta tries to fend off the pokemon chasing him. "but for real, did they say that?"

it's not unusual for priam to forget the small details easily. this was one of those cases.

the formation of the pokemon seemingly gets back as they realize that the heat doesn't affect them as much. it takes them a while to reconvene. priam swallow as he realizes what was happening before them.

"oh yeah, i just used soak on them earlier. we might need a different plan."

priam tugs iris' arm once before he starts to slowly back away, ready to continue the escape at a moment's notice.
