Alexei continued on his way, after leaving that strange, dancing pineapple behind. What was he going to find this time? He hoped it was on his wish list, as that was getting shorter and shorter.[break][break]

Not to mention it was becoming harder to find a particular Grass-type because there were so freakin’ many of them! It was like throwing a pebble into a lake and watching the small ripple expand continuously.[break][break]

He was pretty sure that out of the three he was looking for, only one of them could… no, wait, it couldn’t Mega Evolve. A Mega Cacturne? That would have been absolutely terrifying, to say the least.

The first thing he saw as he continued deeper into the Petalburg Forest was a Crobat—this made him smile a little bit. However, he already had a Crobat of his own.[break][break]

Keeping his eyes on the dual-type as it soared through the undergrowth, he took a different direction once it had disappeared into the trees and gone off to stalk something else for food, most likely. He knew that the Zubat line were generally bloodsuckers, as bats were, so he was expecting some poor, unsuspecting Pokémon to be attacked by the incoming purple streak as it approached.[break][break]

Either way, he was here for very particular things and here was hoping he would be able to find them, and soon.[break][break]

The next Pokémon that had come by was—a Volbeat.

Which, unfortunately, wasn’t what he was looking for. Sighing, he then decided to leave the buzzing Bug-type alone. He knew that whenever there was a Volbeat, there would be a swarm of Illumise that would follow. Or was it the other way around?

He blinked, as he skirted past the strange Pokémon and continued his search. It was definitely not one he was looking for—maybe some Bug Catcher-type person would enjoy it.

Not him, definitely not. He was here with purpose, a reason…

Now the next thing that came trundling by to bother him was a Chespin—wait, he already had a Chesnaught courtesy of Annie Mei, however he had thought of checking the trading BBS that he frequented. He remembered seeing someone looking for a Chespin, and decided to get this one as a gift for the other person looking.

Hey, it’s the least I can do, he thought as the Chespin caught sight of him—before promptly proceeding to throw out a series of projectiles at him in a Seed Bomb attack!

“Oh, what the hell?!” he yelped as he dove out of the way and heard the hard-shelled seeds hitting the tree close to him instead. Grumbling, he fumbled around and bowling ball’d a Pokéball out at random, letting out a sigh of relief as his Braviary emerged and let out a squawk at the Chespin.

“Careful!” he called out from his prone position on the grassy ground as the Chespin turned and lashed out at the Braviary with a Vine Whip attack. The avian had made up his mind that he wasn’t having any of this shit, and swooped in and picked up the Chespin before disappearing into the sky.

“Oh, he’s in for it now,” he remarked as he recognized the first half of the Sky Drop attack. A few moments later the Braviary came hurtling down, dropping the screaming Chespin on the ground as it slammed into the dirt.

“Nasty,” he chuckled as he picked himself up and threw an empty Pokéball at the Chespin.
