a gym challenge that was would be broadcast to anyone tuning in was probably the craziest thing ever for the challenger. so of course kazimir had to go and show off his stuff for all of the region, only it wasn't going to be him that would actually be battling. as the familiar sight of the armored hero sprinted into the arena followed by his pokemon that came in roaring that got the crowd hyped up. it wasn't everyday that many would get to see the local hero pokkenger make such a public appearance and show off his skills.

"ok mr gym leader!" the hero exclaimed as he pointed a finger at his opponent and his pokemon took their stances right beside him ready to jump counter anything that they might throw at them. "hope your ready for a good fight, because i know i am. and so are my partners right here! w're gonna show you the strength of the hero of hoenn and how far we've comem! and that's a poke promise!"

[attr="class","stone i"]a pokkenger! this almost has the potential to match the hype levels of the silph match. the roar of the crowd says as much. alexander stands on the opposite end of the battlefield, pokemon at the ready.

"you better see that poke promise through!"

and with that, the battle commences. alexander opts for more flair than what he's normally known for, if only to appease the crowd and the many watching at home. his pokemon rush forward together, sticking close enough to be called a unit.

greninja's DOUBLE TEAM creates clones that scatter across the battlefield, all replicating the same movements as him. swampert slams into the ground and sends a ROCK SLIDE tumbling over both their opponents.

the match began an already their foes were off to a strong start with the greninja overwhelming them with numbers thanks to its double team. however that didn't phase either pokemon in the slightest, what did was the rock slide coming their way though. "turters lets show them that defense of yours! sengoku let's put a little bit of fear into them!" the superhero called out to his two pokemon who understood the context of what their trainer wanted.

the torterra withdrew into his shell as the rock slide bounced against his earthy outer body, shaking it like a tidal wave shaking a small island. sengoku on the other hand managed to dodge it and took to the skies as he looked down at the army of greninja clones below him. he might not know which was the real one but the charizard's scary face was sure to stop it in its tracks to let them counter attack with ease.

[attr="class","stone i"]in a way, this battle reminds him of his training session with Kaida Adachi. the immobile torterra. the airborne charizard. the way they're separated makes focusing one easier than the other. however, this time, they choose the airborne target.

greninja refuses to cower under the SCARY FACE. his speed slows as he brings a hand to his temple. a sudden EXTRASENSORY force looks to overwhelm the torterra, perhaps also acting as a distraction for swampert to conjure up a huge tidal wave of MUDDY WATER.

the wave flows at both targets with intensity rivaled only by the cheer of the crowd.

the greninja was made of more sterner stuff if it managed to shrug off sengoku's glare of death. even the charizard himself was displeased as he continued to glare daggers at the greninja as he landed on top of turters like a platform as the turtle peeked out of his shell. when he did the poor torterra was caught off guard by the psychic assault on his mind that caused him to shake his whole body and almost knock the charizard off of his perch. with the two of them off balance they were easy pickings for the muddy water to wash over both of them. "c'mon fellas don't let some dirty water put ya down! dry yourselves off!"

luckily for turters the water was just what was needed to clear the torterra's head just in time to hear his trainers words. dry off? he knew just what to do and let out a cry as he shot an orb of shining light from his mouth and into the sky that turned the sky above them into one heck of a sunny day that quickly dried off the pokkenger's drenched pokemon. despite the crust of mud on his body sengoku let out a loud roar that cracked it as he bathed in the sunlight and felt himself gaining some solar power from the sun.

setting his sights on the swampert who caused the tsunami of mud sengoku gathered flames into his mouth before fire off a large bullet of flames in the form of a flame burst that was sure to be an explosive surprise for it.

[attr="class","stone i"]ah. here it comes. alexander was wondering when he would see the reasoning behind the combination of a torterra and charizard. the SUNNY DAY shines down above them, warming up the entire arena.

swampert is confused by the FLAME BURST that flies towards him. fire is usually not effective in the slightest against him, so he doesn't bother to move, which ends up being a mistake because the moment the attack hits him, a small explosion happens. it rings across the arena, through the crowd, and swampert ends up being pushed into the water from the impact.

"no water moves!"

greninja shifts the EXTRASENSORY to the charizard while swampert summons another barrage of ROCK SLIDES, bursting out of the water and onto a platform to do so.

as the enemy retaliated the pokkenger could see a pattern, or to be specific realized what the best thing they could do to make this fight a little more bearable. "don't let them overtake you guys! but take down the swampert! special combo; forest fire!" the superhero called out to his pokemon who understood what kind of combination they should do. sengoku took flight once again and charged forward only to be stunned by the extrasensory of the greninja and his mind was nearly torn apart. if that wasn't going to do it then the sharp rocks that pelted him would as they battered his body. the pain he felt was much greater than he would expect as despite feeling the sun's rays energize his whole body he did feel his energy falling much faster than he was used to.

"sengoku! hang in there! show them why your the strongest around here!" pokkenger's cry was mixed in with the torterra's own cry as he tried to get his partner back into the game. of course he couldn't just play support, and so turters shook his back to let loose a storm of leaves that overtook the approaching rocks, sure some got through but his defense was much greater than that and he wasn't going to let some pebbles stop him as his storm blew towards the swampert.

hearing the voices of his trainer and partner did manage to keep the charizard somewhat focused on the blurry image of the swampert and with a roar he coated his body in flames and charged forward in a flare blitz that would knock the pokemon off its platform if it managed to feel the full force of the charizard's burning fury.

[attr="class","stone i"]forest fire? alexander quickly runs the possibilities in his mind but is unable to decide on what the combination could be. in the end, he will be forced to react.

the violent LEAF STORM billows towards swampert, forcing him to form a reactionary shield of PROTECT. he braces himself behind it, avoiding the sharp leaves. this leaves him stationary. vulnerable. the FLARE BLITZ finds connection and the impact sends him flying into the water.

is swampert out? the crowd waits in anticipation.

"keep going."

meanwhile, greninja continues his assault on the torterra with an EXTRASENSORY.

that marked one down, for now, and left another for them to deal with. still the greninja was persistent in keep up the mental offensive by pelting turters again with another attack on his mind. "sengoku back up turters! mobile tank formation!" the superhero called out to his pokemon in which the charizard nodded in acknowledgement as he took flight once again and flew over to his partner.

as the charizard landed on the toretrra with a heavy thud it was able to bring the turtle back to its senses as the charizard relayed their trainer's plan in a low growl and the turtle pokemon nodded. with a glare sengoku gathered flames once again in his mouth as the torterra started its charge for the greninja while carrying his partner on its back showing just how much superpower was behind this large pokemon. as it ran the charizard lowered himself till he was almost hugging turters' shell and let loose another flame burst like a tank firing a canon shell.

[attr="class","stone i"]despite the missing swampert, greninja is not alone. the DOUBLE TEAM from earlier comes into play as greninja starts running across platforms, jumping along with his clones in an attempt to confuse the attacking duo.

the SUPERPOWER manages to clip the real greninja but the FLAME BURSTS fires into a clone, passing through to hit the ground. a boom! sounds across the arena from the impact.

thankfully, greninja's psychic-typing due to PROTEAN allows him to remain nimble on his feet. he quickly counters with another EXTRASENSORY, looking to trip the torterra into the ground.

the crowd gasps as another wave of ROCK SLIDE looks to bury the duo. the camera pans to reveal swampert in the water, still conscious and able to fight.

the drive by tactic of the duo may have only been half successful as they managed to knock down the greninja a peg but they were still far from over. once again the poor torterra was struck with another psychic attack that caused him to thrash around and force sengoku to take off from his perch on top of the turtle. the sudden retaliation was enough to force them to stop long enough for the rock slide to suddenly sneak up on them as the swampert emerged out of the water. the two of them now found themselves sandwiched between the two foes and still wondering if they can pull through this.

"c'mon guys don't give up! let's make sure they can't get close and if they do, swat them away!" the charizard resonated with the pokkengers words as he took flight and starting to drum his belly with a roar to signal his strength despite his waning stamina. turters on teh ground shook off some of the rocks that had nearly buried him and stomped the ground, causing an earthquake to shake the stadium and open up the ground under him, the swampert, and greninja in order to swallow them hole while sengoku didn't seem affected at all. one way or another they would power through this.

[attr="class","stone i"]their opponents are sandwiched but they do not let their guard down, not even for a second. so when alexander notices the charizard drumming its belly, he is quick to shout out his order:

"focus fire!"

they first have to deal with the EARTHQUAKE that surges across the stadium. the ground splinters and shards come crashing into both water-types, but they hold strong in the face of danger. the ground may have split but swampert is quick to fill it with MUDDY WATER before riding it across, looking to crash right into the charizard.

greninja leaps over to another platform, forming WATER SHURIKENS before tossing them over charizard's way. some of the crowd are now on their feet, forced up by the earth shaking.

the charizard caught a glimpse of the swampert heading his way and shot a glare at it as it roared. that was the signal that kazimir both feared and felt hopeful for. while he was impressed with the dragon's strength and tenacity he was always worried about a signature tactic that it loved to employ once its energy was almost out; [break][break]
a kamikaze attack.
[break][break]
sengoku flew towards the swampert looking to meet it head on as he spread his arms and wings as wide as he could as he looked to ram into the swamp creature with a body slam of all things. with all of his newfound power surging through his body he could at least guarantee his trainer one last good hit in this fight and try to even out the odds in their favor. the price was going to costly however as the charizard felt the dirty water wash over him despite his charge, but he wouldn't give up. this wasn't his kamikaze strategy if he didn't give it the good old do or die try.

as charizard charged forward kazimir caught sight of both the greninja jumping around and firing off water shurikens to try and stop sengoku from his attack as well as turters rising up to shake off the assault on his head, that's when a light bulb turned on. "turters! stop that greninja and protect sengoku! let's show them some forest protection!" with a loud grunt the large turtle shook his shell once again as a storm of leaves erupted from the solitary tree on his back and formed a wall to block and eat up the water shuriken to make sure his partner finished his suicide mission while he was buried underneath the muddy water.

the sudden impact of BODY SLAM knocks the wind out of swampert, taking him into the depths of the wave of his own creation. with fading strength, swampert knows this is the end of his battle. a final HAMMER ARM looks to take charizard down with him before he faints.

greninja looks to his trainer for guidance, and with a reassuring nod, turns his attention to the torterra. EXTRASENSORY seeps into the grass-type's mind.
